The church is called to be a people who are full of the Holy Spirit, who have different gifts but love one another well, who function within a hierarchy where every person is genuinely as valuable as everyone else. This includes welcoming each other, serving each other and challenging each other when we need to, even though we are often very different. This requires maturity and the help of God, who loves his church very much.
