Her first was a 5 day labour, an induction, & on the last day an emergency C-section. Yasmina’s 2nd birth was a beautiful scheduled C-section with minimal complications post delivery.

“ Surprise breech baby”

Welcome Arielle Rechner to Birthing on the Prairies! Arielle birthed her Breech baby in the heat of COVID at the Grey Nuns hospital in Edmonton Alberta with a midwife and OB.

“ I delivered breech vaginally, when most of the time you only hear breech babies being deliver by cesarean. It is possible to deliver a breech baby vaginally! My birth with my daughter was one for the books, complete opposite from my birth with my son. It was extremely fast, empowering, scary, challenging and magical. The unexpected events of finding out she was breech came to a shock but my body did all the work and I am proud of “her” aka my body. And the mental game of being pregnant during a pandemic and delivering at the peak of the pandemic with so much uncertainty in society.” - Arielle

Lindsey is a birth Doula from Calgary AB. Her story is quite unique in the way that there was plenty of medical management due to a pre existing heart condition. There was a lot of preparing & questions to be answered leading up to her birth.

She experiences a Fast paced induction at the FootHills Hospital in Calgary & endured a Peri-urethral tear.

She also shares what her Breastfeeding journey was like after breast having a pervious breast reduction.
