Bissau Connection

A one-hour Boards of Canada tribute mix opening with tracks from "Inferno" and drifting through the worlds of BoC. A brief homage to the duo’s cryptic, nostalgic sound far too vast for one mixtape, yet forever tied to faded memories and 70s NFB film echoes among others. Inferno will fulfil the days and nights of thousands of BoC fans.

I "met" Vangelis in a documentary that I was watching somewhere on RTP (portuguese public channel). It would be maybe on a Sunday lunchtime in the early 80's and I didn't even think or realize what was in front of me.

Before that he had already 13 years making music (with a "Best Of") and after showing us what the soundtracks of millions of journalistic pieces of space and science: "Albedo 0.39", "Spiral" or the famous "Chariots of Fire" are huge themes.

At 79, it was too soon. It is the burden of the great: they will always be missed.
