BTC ~$78.2K | 12h ~−0.4% | Regime 36/100 (−4), BEARISH-RISK | Spot/Leverage INDETERMINATE | finalized Sep. 9 ETF −$120.2M, DISTRIBUTIVE | leverage UNVERIFIED | macro/liquidity BEARISH: Brent ~$102, 10Y ~4.87% | pivot $77.75K–$78.3K | next: ECB 7:15 AM + U.S. PPI 7:30 AM Chicago | bias DEFENSIVE / DOWNSIDE-RISK
Today's Highlights
BTC is approximately $78.2K around this run. Live public feeds are not perfectly synchronized, with current references around $78.15K–$78.4K, so this report uses ~$78.2K rather than false tick precision.
Relative to the prior evening snapshot near $78.5K, BTC is approximately 0.4% lower. A verified broader window shows approximately $77.76K–$79.75K, but an exact exchange-aggregated 12-hour high/low could not be independently verified.
The macro environment worsened overnight. Brent traded around $102.15, WTI around $97.50, and the U.S. 10-year yield pushed toward 4.87%. Energy-driven inflation pressure is now propagating through global sovereign-bond markets.
Most importantly, September 9 U.S. spot-BTC ETF data have now finalized at −$120.2M, versus the incomplete −$100.7M reading available during the prior report
BTC Regime Score
36/100 — BEARISH-RISK
−4 vs 40/100 prior session
The downgrade reflects BTC remaining below $79K, the finalized −$120.2M ETF outflow, Brent extending above $102, the U.S. 10Y approaching 4.87%, and stronger BOJ tightening/carry-trade risk.
BOJ board member Kazuyuki Masu warned overnight that Japan could eventually need to raise rates rapidly if inflation accelerates and emphasized the need to move real rates out of negative territory.
Offsets prevent a deeper downgrade: BTC has not decisively broken the ~$77.75K broader-window low; U.S. equity futures are approximately flat/mixed; no new verified Strategy sale appeared; and BTC's recent golden cross remains constructive on a medium-term horizon.
Because synchronized OI, funding, basis and BTC-specific liquidation data remain incomplete, 36/100 is a regime estimate, not a mathematically precise score.
What Actually Moved BTC?
1. Oil → inflation → yields — HIGH confidence probable driver. Brent remains above $100 while sovereign yields continue rising. Reuters reports that the oil shock has revived inflation concerns across global markets. This creates a credible tightening channel into BTC, although it does not prove causation for every BTC tick.
2. ETF demand deterioration — MEDIUM/HIGH confidence. September 9 finalized at −$120.2M, providing stronger evidence of institutional spot-demand weakness than was available last evening
3. BOJ / yen carry-risk repricing — MEDIUM confidence. Increasing expectations for Japanese policy normalization create another potential global-liquidity headwind. This is correlation and transmission risk—not evidence that Japanese investors directly sold BTC.

Bitcoin BTC Intelligence September 9, 2026 MORNING $79.0K | 12h ~+0.6% vs prior ~$78.5K | Regime 44/100 (+2), BEARISH-RISK / IMPROVING
Action Board
BTC ~$79.0K | 12h ~+0.6% vs prior ~$78.5K | Regime 44/100 (+2), BEARISH-RISK / IMPROVING | Spot/Leverage INDETERMINATE | Sep. 8 finalized U.S. spot-BTC ETF −$46.6M, DISTRIBUTIVE | leverage: funding near flat; synchronized OI/liquidations unavailable | macro/liquidity BEARISH: Brent breached $100, U.S. 10Y ~4.81%, yen/carry risk elevated | critical pivot $79.0K then $79.75K–$80.0K | next major catalyst: 10Y Treasury auction 12:00 PM Chicago | bias DEFENSIVE, but BTC showing relative resilience
Today's Highlights
Bitcoin recovered from the prior evening snapshot near $78.5K to roughly $79.0K, an approximate +0.6% scheduled-session gain. Fresh five-minute market data showed BTC at $78,945.12 at 5:00 AM Chicago, after an overnight high near $79,748 and low near $78,631 in the six hours ending then. A separate 7:00 AM ET reference printed $79,016.41. The exact final minutes into 7:00 AM Chicago were not independently captured, so ~$79.0K is the appropriate run-level estimate
The important change is relative resilience: BTC improved while the macro backdrop worsened. Brent breached $100/bbl, reaching roughly $100.95, while the U.S. 10-year moved to approximately 4.81%.
The September 8 U.S. spot-BTC ETF table is now finalized at −$46.6M, reversing the previous finalized +$174.6M session. Five funds were positive and three negative, while GBTC's −$65.5M was the dominant drag.
BTC Regime Score
44/100 — BEARISH-RISK / IMPROVING
+2 vs 42/100 prior session
Positive components: BTC recovered and challenged $79K despite worsening oil/rates; available funding evidence is near flat rather than obviously overheated; the $77.3K–$76.8K structural zone remains intact.
Negative components: finalized ETF flows turned negative; Brent crossed $100; the 10Y remains around 4.8%; Europe weakened; yen/carry risk remains elevated; synchronized OI, basis and liquidation data remain incomplete.
What Actually Moved BTC?
1. Technical/positioning recovery — MEDIUM-HIGH confidence. BTC rebounded from Tuesday's ~$77.6K washout and reached approximately $79.75K overnight. The price action is confirmed; the exact spot-versus-derivatives composition is not
2. BTC resilience despite worsening macro — MEDIUM confidence. Oil and Treasury yields moved in a direction normally adverse to risk assets, yet BTC advanced. This is evidence of relative strength—not proof of a particular buyer.
3. No verified BTC-specific bullish catalyst — HIGH confidence. The finalized ETF print was actually negative, so the overnight recovery should not be attributed to ETF inflows.

BTC ~$78.3K | 12h ~−0.9% vs prior ~$79.0K | Regime 39/100 (−7), BEARISH-RISK | Spot/Leverage INDETERMINATE | latest finalized ETF Sep. 4 +$174.6M, CONCENTRATED | leverage UNVERIFIED | macro/liquidity BEARISH: oil near $99–$100 + U.S. 10Y ~4.80% + yen carry unwind | critical BTC pivot $78.5K–$78.7K | next major catalyst: U.S. cash-market reopening | bias DEFENSIVE / DOWNSIDE-RISK
Today's Highlights
Bitcoin is approximately $78.3K near this run, versus roughly $79.0K at the prior evening snapshot, a decline of approximately 0.9%. Fresh cross-venue data place the overnight window high near $79.69K and low near $78.36K. Coinbase, Binance and Kraken were all clustered around $78.4K earlier this morning, providing useful cross-venue confirmation.
The important technical change is that BTC has now broken beneath the $78.5K–$78.7K secondary support identified in last night's report. This is more important than the percentage decline itself because it converts a defended level into potential overhead resistance.
The macro environment also deteriorated. Brent moved toward $99–$100 after Houthi attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure, while the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was approximately 4.80%. Reuters reports roughly 58% probability of a Fed rate increase next week
The yen accelerated sharply. USD/JPY reached 152.89 before recovering toward 154. Reuters explicitly identifies repatriation, BOJ tightening expectations and yen-funded carry-trade unwinding as drivers
BTC Regime Score
39/100 — BEARISH-RISK
−7 vs 46/100 prior session
The downgrade is driven by five developments:
BTC lost $78.5K–$78.7K support; Brent moved closer to $100; Treasury yields remain restrictive; yen appreciation accelerated carry-unwind risk; and Asian/European equities reversed lower.
Offsets remain: most of the Liquid Network BTC has been returned, the latest finalized ETF session remains positive, and BTC has not yet reached the $76.8K–$77.3K structural invalidation zone.
Confidence in the score is reduced because current derivatives positioning remains incomplete.
What Actually Moved BTC?
1. Oil / inflation / rates repricing — HIGH confidence probable driver. BTC weakened as oil moved toward $100 and Treasury yields remained elevated. Reuters describes the same oil shock as reviving inflation and central-bank tightening concerns across global markets. This is strong evidence of a common macro transmission mechanism, but not proof of exact BTC causation
2. Yen carry-trade unwind / global risk-off — MEDIUM-HIGH. USD/JPY reached 152.89, and Reuters specifically identifies unwinding of yen-funded carry trades as a material global-market risk
3. Technical loss of $78.5K–$78.7K — HIGH technical confidence. BTC traded below the secondary support identified before this decline occurred.
There is no credible evidence of a new Bitcoin-specific fundamental event causing this decline.

Action Board — BTC ~$80,826 | ~−0.5% vs prior 7 PM snapshot | Regime 76/100 (−2) BULLISH | Spot/Leverage: MIXED | Sep. 3 ETF +$730.8M FINAL, BROAD | macro supportive but payroll risk extreme | critical pivot $80K | U.S. payrolls 7:30 AM CT | Bias: BULLISH / high event risk

Today's Highlights
Bitcoin is approximately $80,826 at this morning's check versus approximately $81,240 in last evening's Session Memory, a roughly −0.5% 12-hour change. BTC nevertheless reached approximately $82,164 overnight, its highest level since May, before retreating.
I cannot independently establish a synchronized exact 12-hour low across reliable venues, so I am marking that metric UNVERIFIED rather than manufacturing a number.
The largest positive change since last night's report is substantial:
September 3 U.S. spot-BTC ETFs finalized at +$730.8 million
Last night only +$89.5M report shows:
Fund
Sep. 3 flow
IBIT
+$454.0M
FBTC
+$74.4M
BITB
+$24.8M
ARKB
+$137.7M
HODL
−$19.6M
BRRR
−$5.2M
MSBT
+$7.7M
GBTC
+$8.2M
BTC
+$48.8M
TOTAL
+$730.8M
This completely resolves last night's preliminary-data uncertainty.
Macro conditions remain broadly supportive immediately before payrolls. U.S. 2-year yields are around 4.33%, 10-year around 4.75%, DXY around 99, and September Fed-hike probability remains around 50%, versus roughly 63% before Waller's dovish remarks.
BTC Regime Score
76/100 — BULLISH
−2 points vs 78/100 last evening
The slight downgrade is deliberate.
BTC failed to retain its overnight move above $82K and returned close to the critical $80K breakout level immediately before a major binary macro event.
However, the newly finalized +$730.8M ETF inflow prevents a larger downgrade. The underlying institutional spot-demand picture is considerably stronger than we knew at 7 PM.
So:
Technical momentum: slightly weaker. ETF/spot demand: substantially stronger. Macro: still supportive. Event risk: substantially higher because payrolls are imminent.

Today’s Highlights
more @ https://bitcoinintel.blogspot.com/
Bitcoin has strengthened since Wednesday evening. The freshest synchronized market reading I found has BTC near $78,360, about +1.3% versus the prior daily close, after trading today between roughly $76,968 and $78,447. A separate composite feed around 7:20 AM Chicago showed approximately $77,862, while an earlier precisely timestamped rolling-24-hour dataset showed BTC up about +1.4% after recovering from a $76,222 low. The feeds differ because of venue and timestamp, but the direction is clear: BTC rebounded materially from yesterday's ~$76.2K support test and has now challenged $78K again.
The biggest fundamental correction to the prior report is even more important:
September 2 U.S. spot-BTC ETF flows finalized at +$101.1M.
Wednesday evening we had a preliminary secondary estimate suggesting roughly −$241M. That estimate was wrong. Farside's finalized primary table now shows +$101.1M, led by IBIT +$115.4M, with BITB +$4.2M, BTC +$30.4M and MSBT +$7.3M, partially offset by GBTC −$56.2M.
That changes the institutional interpretation materially. The completed sequence is now:
Chicago-market session
U.S. spot BTC ETF flow
Aug. 28
−$201.9M
Aug. 31
+$216.7M
Sep. 1
−$236.5M
Sep. 2
+$101.1M
The last four sessions remain slightly net negative, about −$120.6M, but yesterday was not a second consecutive large outflow day. Institutional demand is choppy, not collapsing.
A second significant development is macro relief. Fed-hike pricing has fallen toward roughly 59%–62%, from almost 70% during Wednesday's bond-market stress. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield has eased toward 4.77%, and the dollar has weakened. That is providing BTC with a better liquidity backdrop this morning.

Bitcoin BTC Intelligence Monday, August 31, 2026 MORNING
Checked at approximately 8:14 AM America/Chicago
Today’s Highlights
Bitcoin is trading around $78.0K–$78.5K this morning. CoinDesk’s fresh market report had BTC near $78,091, about +0.5% over 24 hours, while its live market feed subsequently showed roughly $78.05K. Barron’s separately reported BTC around $78,545 this morning. Venue and snapshot differences account for the spread.
The most useful verified 24-hour range I found is approximately:
High: ~$79.39K Low: ~$77.02K
An Alpaca-derived 24-hour dataset recorded $79,393.79 / $77,018.06, while broader daily data similarly show BTC falling from the upper-$79Ks toward the upper-$77Ks overnight.
The biggest development since Sunday evening is now confirmed, not speculative:
Strategy bought 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7M.
Strategy’s own August 31 Form 8-K confirms the acquisition. CoinDesk reports an average acquisition price of $80,318 per BTC, raising Strategy’s holdings to:
845,050 BTC
at an aggregate cost of about $63.73B and cumulative average cost of approximately $75,412/BTC.
This validates Michael Saylor’s Sunday “We’re Back” hint.
At the same time, the macro backdrop deteriorated overnight: renewed U.S.-Iran military strikes pushed Brent above $90, pressured global equities and bonds, while September Fed-hike probability sits around 58%–60% after Kevin Warsh’s hawkish Jackson Hole speech. Remarkably, BTC has remained near $78K despite that risk-off backdrop.
ETF / Institutional Demand
The latest completed U.S. spot-BTC ETF session remains Friday, August 28:
−$201.9M
Farside confirms:
IBIT −$33.4M FBTC $0 BITB −$49.7M ARKB −$114.9M HODL −$13.2M MSBT +$9.3M.
That ended the prior nine-session inflow streak.
Monday August 31
Today's ETF session has not completed. At this MORNING run there is no legitimate final August 31 ETF total.
Therefore:
“Monday ETFs are buying the dip” → not yet verified.
“Monday ETFs continue Friday’s outflows” → not yet verified.
This will be one of the most important pieces of data for the MIDDAY/EVENING reports.
Friday’s −$201.9M should also be kept in perspective against the roughly $3B accumulated during the preceding positive streak.
Strategy — Major Confirmed Institutional Catalyst
Sunday evening I classified Saylor’s message as an unconfirmed signal.
That has materially changed.
Strategy officially announced today:
+4,603 BTC
~$369.7M purchase
~$80,318 average purchase price
845,050 BTC total holdings
~$63.73B cumulative BTC cost
~$75,412 cumulative average price
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
Bitcoin is trading almost exactly at $80,000 this morning. CoinMarketCap’s fresh snapshot shows approximately $79,962, up 1.48% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of $78,744.85–$81,346.96. CoinDesk independently reports BTC reached roughly $81,455 overnight, its highest level since May, before pulling back below $80K.
more @ : https://bitcoinintel.blogspot.com/
The most important change from Thursday evening is mixed but overall constructive: BTC made a higher high above $81.3K–$81.4K, but still has not established durable acceptance above $80K–$81K. The market is therefore continuing to absorb the major supply zone rather than decisively escaping it.
The strongest new fundamental confirmation is ETF demand. August 27 finalized at +$242.3M, creating a ninth consecutive positive U.S. spot-BTC ETF session. The streak from August 17 through August 27 now totals approximately:
+$3.044 BILLION
Farside shows BlackRock IBIT at +$277.6M Thursday, offset partly by Fidelity FBTC at −$83.6M and GBTC at −$27.2M.
That means institutional demand continues even while BTC struggles with $80K–$82K resistance.
ETF / Institutional Demand
The verified streak is now:
Session
Net BTC ETF flow
Aug. 17
+$297.5M
Aug. 18
+$189.3M
Aug. 19
+$517.2M
Aug. 20
+$606.3M
Aug. 21
+$307.5M
Aug. 24
+$337.6M
Aug. 25
+$314.3M
Aug. 26
+$232.2M
Aug. 27
+$242.3M
9-session total
+$3.044B
Thursday’s flow is particularly interesting because it was not uniformly positive across issuers:
IBIT +$277.6M ARKB +$29.7M BITB +$21.7M FBTC −$83.6M GBTC −$27.2M.
So the institutional bid remains powerful, but it is increasingly concentrated in BlackRock IBIT.
That is still bullish, but broad participation would be healthier than one product supplying most of the net demand.
August 28 flows are not available yet. Any “Friday ETF total” circulating this morning is necessarily incomplete.
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
Bitcoin is trading around $79.3K, up roughly 1.2%–1.3% over 24 hours on the freshest CoinDesk/CoinMarketCap readings. BTC traded back above $80K earlier this morning before slipping under it again; the rolling lower end is around $77.6K–$77.7K based on the latest completed session data.
more data on my blog : https://bitcoinintel.blogspot.com/
The most important improvement versus Wednesday evening is institutional confirmation: August 26 U.S. spot-BTC ETFs finalized at +$232.2M, giving Bitcoin ETFs eight consecutive positive sessions and about +$2.80B across the streak. Farside’s fund-level data show IBIT +$200.8M and FBTC +$25.6M, while GBTC had −$50.4M.
The second important positive is market quality. CoinDesk Research found that spot order-book depth remained unusually robust throughout the roughly 24%–25% rally. The 0.5% depth across major exchanges was about $9.6M when the rally began and still around $8.7M near $80K, supporting the conclusion that real capital was moving through a liquid market rather than a few orders pushing BTC through a thin book.
However, there is a new security development this morning: Core Lightning has issued an emergency warning after AI-generated security reports uncovered several real vulnerabilities. This affects Lightning Network software, not Bitcoin base-layer consensus, and no exploitation has yet been confirmed.

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
Bitcoin has stabilized after the midday weakness rather than breaking support. CoinMarketCap’s latest snapshot is about $78,441, +1.03% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of approximately $77,640–$79,241. A separate Bitfinex/Investing.com feed shows roughly $78,987, with today’s range $77,627–$79,270; the high/low readings line up closely, while the price difference reflects venue/timestamp variation.
The main change from the midday report is modestly positive technically: BTC tested approximately $77.6K, held it, and recovered toward the upper-$78Ks. It has not, however, reclaimed $80K, so this remains consolidation beneath confirmed resistance rather than renewed breakout momentum.
The strongest fundamental support remains institutional flows: August 25 finalized at +$314.3M, the seventh consecutive positive U.S. spot-BTC ETF session. Importantly, almost 90% of Tuesday’s inflow came through BlackRock IBIT, so the institutional bid is powerful but relatively concentrated.
The primary new negative is macro: July PCE inflation was 3.7% YoY versus 3.6% expected, the dollar strengthened, and September Fed-hike probability rose to about 40%.
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Today’s Highlights
Bitcoin is trading around $78.9K–$79.1K this evening and is now essentially flat over the latest 24 hours. CoinMarketCap’s fresh snapshot shows $79,086, +0.19%, with a 24-hour range of approximately $78,144–$81,235. CoinDesk is simultaneously around $78.8K, while Reuters’ late U.S.-session reading was $78,893, down just 0.04%. The small differences are normal venue/timestamp variation.
The important development since the midday report is straightforward:
BTC did not reclaim $80K during the U.S. session despite a substantial drop in Treasury yields.
The overnight breakout reached approximately $81,238–$81,265, but the 50-week moving average near $81,085rejected the move and BTC spent the afternoon back under $80K.
This is a tactical negative, but the underlying market structure remains considerably healthier than a typical late-stage leveraged rally: BTC-denominated futures open interest has collapsed to a nearly five-month low while funding remains subdued.
ETF / Institutional Demand
The latest completed U.S. spot-Bitcoin ETF session remains Monday, August 24: +$337.6M.
Farside confirms:
Date
Net flow
Aug. 17
+$297.5M
Aug. 18
+$189.3M
Aug. 19
+$517.2M
Aug. 20
+$606.3M
Aug. 21
+$307.5M
Aug. 24
+$337.6M
That is approximately +$2.26B across six consecutive completed sessions using Farside’s figures August 25 warning
I do not yet have finalized August 25 fund-level data from Farside.
There was also an important headline error today: a CoinDesk live page initially described ETF inflows as a “seventh straight day,” but the story was corrected to say August 24 was the sixth consecutive positive session, not that August 25 had already been confirmed positive.
Therefore:
“BTC ETFs have already posted a seventh consecutive inflow day today” → NOT YET CONFIRMED.
Do not use that headline as evidence until today’s actual fund data settle.
Spot Demand / Whale / Exchange-Flow Signals
There is a meaningful positive on spot demand tonight.
CoinDesk reports CryptoQuant’s Bull Score has jumped from 30 to 80 in one week, with 8 of 10 indicators now bullish, while CryptoQuant says spot demand is increasing at its fastest monthly rate since late December. Stablecoin liquidity is also expanding: USDT supply reportedly rose by about $2.2B in the past week, USDC by $1.8B, and RLUSD by another ~$300M.
That supports a broader liquidity/spot-demand recovery.
However, I still cannot independently verify a precise last-24-hour claim such as:
“Whales accumulated 25,000 BTC today.”
No sufficiently robust primary wallet/exchange-flow series surfaced that allows me to state a fresh whale accumulation number with confidence.
So:
Spot demand improvement: supported.
Stablecoin liquidity improvement: supported.
Specific massive whale purchase today: not independently verified.
Fresh exact exchange-netflow number: not verified strongly enough to quote.
