In this week's chapter, we explore how far a friend will go to help a friend

We continue the serial story of "The Maevis Matter" in the Direwald Diaries. In our previous entry, Eli the gunslinger decided to take Maevis to a doctor to investigate the cause of the strange, pinprick-like bites on her arm. Maevis claimed they came from her mother, after she transformed into a monster. Concerned, but skeptical, the doctor Eli brought the young girl to was a Ticker, a half-human, half-clockwork being. Known only as “Doc,” the being confirmed that the bites may have come from a Botiskin, a term used to describe the offspring of a human and demon. Faced with this news, Eli must now decide if he wants to accept Maevis’ offer to hire him to kill his mother.

This week's story is a comedic journey through a video game that is not the protagonists prefered genre.

In our previous entry, a well-to-do and young girl named Maevis attempted to hire the gunslinger known as Eli to kill his mother. To prove she was serious, she offered a magical Sky Stone as payment. Unimpressed and slightly disturbed by the offer, Eli set to take the young girl back to her mother. His mind changed when she showed him the unusual bite marks on her arm as evidence. Curious, but still not accepting her, Eli decides instead to take Maevis to a doctor to determine the truth of the marks.

In this week's chapter, we conclude the story that began in Chapter 7, when officers on a generation ship with a colonization mission receive an unanticipated transmission.

In this week's story a software developer finds out that he has been more successful in his latest project than he had ever dreamed.

We continue the serial story set in the Weird West Boomtown of Direwald.

In our previous entry, Eli the gunslinger was minding his own business in one of the many saloons in the Boomtown of Direwald. It was then he was approached by a well-dressed and appointed young girl who wanted to hire the scoundrel. For payment, she offered a rather large, mysterious Sky Stone, a crystal with a swirling, ethereal center. The young girl, Maevis wanted to hire the gunslinger for what she felt was a simple, yet urgent task - killing her mother.
