We all have big dreams, but the reality is that we’re not all starting from the same place. And that’s okay!
In this episode, we’re talking about how our starting lines can look completely different depending on where we are in life, our careers, our finances, and our families. As we navigate midlife (eek), our kids getting older, unexpected career changes, and the possibility of starting something new, we’re realizing that this next chapter is an opportunity to reassess what we really want.
Most importantly, we share why small wins, accountability, and having your besties in your corner can make all the difference. Because your journey doesn't have to look like anyone else's, and you don't have to have everything figured out before taking that first step.
Sometimes you just need to figure out where you're starting, decide where you want to go, and let your besties help you get there!

What does a Biz Club meeting actually look like?
Often it’s loud and silly and chaotic…but always fun and productive!
In this episode, we’re letting you sit in on one of ours.
We’re going around the table to check in on everyone’s progress, updates and roadblocks. We also talk about why starting small can be one of the best ways to figure out what you actually want your business to become. Sometimes that means testing your process on your friends, saying yes to an opportunity that scares you, or finally putting something on the calendar so you can’t keep putting it off.
This is a real look at what happens when we get together with some refreshing bevies, tasty bites, Post-its, and our besties full of ideas, opinions and accountability!

We all have things we love doing, but how do you take a passion, hobby, or skill and actually turn it into something more?
In this episode, we’re talking about our own experiences taking those first steps. Maria shares how simply bringing her colorful, healthy lunches to work unexpectedly turned into Mo Meals, an underground meal prep business serving up to 30 meals a day. Jason shares how a lifelong love of interior design went from something that felt unattainable to real projects with friends, giving him a chance to test his skills, develop his process, and figure out what kind of business he actually wants to build.
We’ll also talk about the pressure we put on ourselves to have everything figured out from the beginning, why your passion doesn’t need to replace your full-time income to be worth pursuing, and how starting with small wins can help turn that big dream in your head into something real.
You don’t need the perfect business plan or the biggest client. Sometimes you just need to try something, learn from it, and have a few besties around to ask you the most important question: why not?

We’re joined by our Bestie Tiana Jovana, a manifestation coach, nervous system educator, and 15-year advertising veteran whose work sits at the intersection of science and spirituality. As the founder of Shifted by Guidance™, Tiana helps high-achieving Black women with ADHD move out of survival mode and into a life they don’t have to force.
Tiana shares her powerful story of growing up in survival mode, spending time in foster care, and making a conscious decision at 16 that her circumstances would not define the rest of her life. That conversation gets deeply personal as we reflect on our own moments of choosing a different path and how our past experiences can continue to shape our nervous systems, relationships, confidence, and the lives we’re trying to build.
Then we get practical about manifestation. Tiana explains why it takes more than simply wanting something, how nervous system regulation and inspired action work together, and why she’s replacing “fake it till you make it” with “believe it until you receive it.” We also learn simple ways to reset when we’re feeling dysregulated, tackle self-doubt, surround ourselves with people who inspire us, and stop normalizing the gifts that make us great. Because manifestation isn’t a wish list. We still have to take the steps toward the life we want.

In Episode 1, we told you why we finally decided to stop talking about our ideas and start doing something about them. Now it’s time to share what those ideas actually are.
An Austin Airbnb, executive coaching, interior design, baking, and invigorating retreats, we’re each at very different stages of turning our passions into something bigger. Some of us are already up and running, some of us are taking our first baby steps, and some of us are developing the plan. And we’re doing it all while balancing careers, families, relationships, and, yes, trying to preserve a little free time.
We’ll share what we’re working toward, what scares us, the steps we’ve already taken, and how having our besties around keeps us inspired and accountable. Because your big dream doesn’t have to happen overnight. Sometimes buying the domain, making the phone call, setting the milestone, or finally saying the idea out loud is enough to get things moving. Cause when we’re 80, enjoying a glass of wine together, we wanna look back and know we tried!

Welcome to the very first episode of Biz Club Besties, where best friends who have no business talking about business are making it our business, and you're inviting along for the ride.
We’ll share how we went from coworkers to a tight-knit squad of five, built a friendship spanning ten plus years, and spent countless trips, dinners, cocktails, and poolside conversations dreaming up business ideas. Eventually, we realized it was time to stop talking about them and start actually doing something about them.
Find out how we turned our casual conversations into intentional “Biz Club” meetings with encouragement, accountability, bevies, bites, and real steps toward our goals. You'll get a look into our ongoing journey in all its chaotic glory but hopefully you'll also be inspired to finally take action on that idea you've been talking about for years. Because you don’t have to have everything figured out to start. You just need your besties!
