  • Thanksgiving, Forgiveness & Black Love

Join Brandi Grayson to discuss the challenges and obstacles families face today. Discussions, guests, and interviews will focus on vulnerable populations–specifically Black families. We cover controversial topics, from religion to race and from relationships to policies to legislation. Join the finest hostess with the most-ess Brandi Grayson every week.

Brandi is joined in the studio by your favorite cousin Clyde to catch up, share space and talk about what they are thankful for as we head into the holiday season. Brandi & Clyde talk about who they desire to be in the world to attract it back to themselves, and share things that hopefully you can try at home to practice Black Love. Are we projecting? When we identify it, we can work on it and be better about how we engage with each other.

Brandi and Clyde move to talking about how the Poli-tricks game is played in sharing a clip from Bernie Sanders from 20 years ago in how some people work to divide us rather than bring us together. This struggle has been going on for decades and there is still a lot of work to do in the work of bringing together.

The duo wraps up the week with an update from the community. Brandi and Clyde shout out the Flynns, who are recent newlyweds, for their recent wedding. Giving Tuesday is also right around the corner, support local nonprofits like Urban Triage and the House Dance Factory this holiday season!

  • The People Need More Money

Brandi and Clyde start off this week’s show reflecting on the fun and fulfilling time they had at the Harvest fest put on by Urban Triage last week. Brandi then responds to an article written by the Cap Times about her organization, painting it in a bad light for running out of money, instead explaining that 1) they needed more money to start with, and 2) cost overruns were accidental, and there is a plan to pay the county back.

The pair also dive into Black love, how it is political, and how they have been showing self-love and self-care the past week. The discussion turns to love shared amongst others, and how it is important within the Black community, to uplift people and heal trauma. Wrapping up this week’s show, Brandi and Clyde talk the debate this week, make fun of Trump, and remain puzzled about how Black people, and men in particular, can support him.
