like many others, this last year fried, dyed, and laid my world to the side. but i am making the choice to focus on the future, believe in better, and propose a different perspective to my present because i don't know of any other option(s) tbh. in my first solo episode, it was important to me to explain the purpose and intention behind 'black girl banter', and subsequently, listen to black women, but to also give insight on my year-long hiatus from creating. i'm so excited to grow with each and every one of you (especially black girls/women) who take the time to press play, to share, and to be here with me. take care of yourself because yo beautiful ass deserves it! much love, xoxo. - kiana (ig/twitter: @rebelliouskiana)
with the recent emergence of expose pages, sexual violence/abuse has been heavy on the minds of students, pushing some to vocalize their trauma. social media became an outlet for survivors to call out abusers and their enablers (*i love this song*). this pertinent conversation defines sexual violence & its’ terminology, dissects Title IX in relation to HBCUs, and spreads awareness on how we can protect each other.
