On this week's episode of the Eight One Sixty, we will celebrate Black History Month. During the show we’ll hear music from several great KC area artists including The Freedom Affair, Jelly Rose, They Call Me Sauce, Modern Day, Kemet Coleman, Crystal Rose Music, Kadesh Flow, Ivy Roots, Cuee, Brotha Newz - the Ustadh and Chico Sierra, Stik Figa, ConductorWilliams, Les Izmore, Deep Breath and Jass.

All month long The Bridge has been observing Black History Month in several ways:

• The Bridge has partnered with Black-owned businesses to elevate independent eateries, institutions, agencies and more
• Every week there is a Bridge Artist of the Week, for Black History Month these acts have been recognized: Arlo Parks / Jon Batiste / The Kuti Family - Fela Kuti, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, Made Kuti
• On The Bridge site, there are interviews and articles about/with Cuee, Eddie Moore, Kadesh Flow and more
• This Saturday, The Bridge presents a day of programming, including interviews with Eddie Moore, Sam Wells and a documentary from Making Movies
• Also, in the family, Kansas City PBS has great Black History Month programming that includes “The Black Church" and “6 Streets”
