  • We talk Fibroids and Menopause with Veronica Ebanks #S2 E2

In today's podcast, we discuss fibroids. Uterine fibroids are a common condition, especially among Black women. About half of Black women have them by the age of 35, and 80 percent have them by the age of 50, compared to 70 percent of white women. Fibroid growth is also more common in black women than in other racial groups. Fibroids can cause weight gain, heavy periods, frequent urination, or pelvic pain, and may require surgery. (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/black-women-start-talk-uterine-fibroids-condition-many-get-speak-rcna20478)

Veronica Ebanks discusses her journey with fibroids and menopause in this episode. In addition to actively educating women on the topic of fibroids, she is passionate about recording and hearing the stories of black women suffering from this disease. Born in Jamaica, raised in London, she is an Afro-Caribbean woman. Business owner of Verelba Mind & Body, a company providing organic skincare, wellbeing products, and holistic therapies. As a skilled facilitator currently offering coaching and mentoring support to women in their 50s and 60s who desire to incorporate more natural solutions into their lives, for greater wellbeing and happiness.
