Police killings of people with mental illnesses are a huge problem for those of all races. One study states that people with untreated mental illnesses are a staggering 16 times more likely to be shot and killed by police. But African Americans are at even higher risk due to the racism in our country and in our police forces. Police officers are also much more likely to suffer from a Mental Issue due to the trauma they witness everyday.
