A little bit of the things I listen to while working or walking my dog or just hanging out with my friends. Some songs or artists even birthed ideas of illustrations and series of artworks. Oneof my ideal projects would be to design album covers for my favorite artists, and this basically stood at the root of my "FANBOY" series, a sort of visual playlist and homage to a genre of music. I even created a playlist for my exhibition, and some people loved it, so I thought why not try to take it just a tiny step further and share with even more people.

After last month’s dive into new wave with Mihu, Mini Zucchini returns to her Ferment Station with a sharp blend of new wave and post-punk. The set spans the iconic melancholy-meets-dancefloor sound of New Order, the sleek synth-pop of Animotion, underground minimalism from Experimental Products, and the brooding psychedelia of Vox Low. She also nods to techno rebel Dave Clarke before closing with Benedikt Frey, whose shadowy, genre-bending productions push the sound into new territory. More than nostalgia, the mix draws a line across decades, channeling the restless energy that keeps new wave and post-punk alive.

Mi-tzu’s guest on this episode is his long time friend Who:ratio, the guy responsible for igniting in him the passion for electronic music and mixing on vinyl. 

Who:ratio first caught the electronic music bug in the late ’80s, discovering techno, rave, and hardcore jungle during his time in Australia. By the late ’90s, he had picked up a questionable MC habit and an incurable vinyl addiction — a path that shaped his eclectic and ever-evolving sound.

Listen to his selection of electro and techno with pinches of IDM in the second hour, with Mi-tzu warming up with some electro cuts in the first.

"For a beautiful walk in an unwalkable city

When I first moved to Bucharest in 2023, Caroline Polachek’s Desire, I Want to Turn Into You had just been released. Pretty in Possible instantly became my favorite song on it, with lyrics that merge the mundane with the absurd in a way that deeply resonated with me. I felt the city resonated with it too. It’s quite random and has nothing to do with the actual music heard on these streets, but now that I live here, this is still how Bucharest often feels to me: like muffled drums, abrasive and soothing at the same time. Because of that one song, I started listening to a lot of trip-hop from the 1990s–00s. I began collecting songs (in a playlist called woosh woosh) - starting with stuff like Massive Attack, Everything But The Girl, Portishead, Saint Etienne, and Madonna’s Ray of Light. Over the past two years though, this has branched out in all sorts of new directions. Here’s how it sounds now."
