Amapiano is the word being used to describe South Africa’s fastest-growing electronic-music movement. Emerging around the townships of Pretoria in 2016, Amapiano is a hybrid of deep house, jazz, kwaito and lounge music with distinct synths, airy pads wide basslines and percussions from another subgenre of house called Bacardi. The name was selected to reflect the melodious piano keyboards that underline fast-pace Gqom beats. It is a combination of the Zulu plural article “ama” and the English noun “piano”.

Nik Fury is a London-based DJ and producer quietly building his lane in the underground. His sound leans dark, soulful, old-school foundations blended with a modern edge.

Nothing forced, just deep grooves, weighty atmospheres, and music that knows where it comes from. His latest releases, “NO FOOLS” on Slimzos Recordings and the KHARABA EP, reflect that approach: raw, stripped-back, and mood-driven, with an emphasis on feel over hype. Whether he’s producing or mixing, there’s a consistency to it, everything sits in the same world.

Still on the come-up, Nik Fury has already seen support and played at Planet Wax, Coalesce Festival, plus radio spots on ModeRadio.London and Kool FM.

Expect a multi-genre blend of dubstep, 140 and drum & bass, deep, dark, and system-ready, where older sounds meet the now.

Jah Bass is a DJ based in Cracow. His monthly show will focus on underground bass music, featuring the finest selection of genres, such as dubstep, halftime, breaks, jungle, dub techno, ambient, and many more.

The first part belong to the program's host. The second half of the show features a guest mix from S0LID.

A thriving artist from Istanbul electronic scene, OZBEK, is a music producer, DJ and label owner who has house and techno genre as the main point on his radar. He also runs his side project as S0LID, where he focuses on a tempo of 140.

It was under this alias that I invited him to my show, where he will present his selection. His bass music background can be sensed in his current creations as reflections of unique wickedness. Dark sounds and driving basslines are the signatures of his hypnotic musical aura.

After exploring Istanbul’s club scene in his teen years, OZBEK has been in touch with the city’s nocturnal culture constantly. The chaotic harmony of Istanbul is present in his music with an ongoing aural stimulation, sudden shifts, unexpected instances, and hidden fragments of calmness.
