The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Gus thought computer troubles would prohibit a live broadcast. However, #LearningALittleBitAboutEverything helped Gus acquire enough information to get his machine working long enough for us to broadcast. Much of the world focused on President Trump's positive Covid-19 test and how his infection has impacted the presidential election and daily affairs at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It's unclear how many other staff members, guests or White House visitors may have contracted the virus. This further highlights the need to take the virus seriously even if your colleagues are downplaying the risks. We'll inquire how parents are navigating the restart of school. We'll also give our obligatory reminder that politics not be discussed in the workplace. It's doubtful any of us is being compensated to share personal views on the current president, world affairs, or the state of "race relations."

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Wilkerson received a 2015 National Humanities Award from former President Barack Obama and garnered widespread acclaim for her 2010 publication, The Warmth of Other Suns. Caste examines different regions of the world where groups of individuals are mistreated because they are not White. Wilkerson explores Nazi Germany, India and the United States. Gus and many C.O.W.S.'s listeners raved about Wilkerson's debut publication, but her sophomore effort is substandard. And a listener alerted Gus that Ms. Wilkerson was married to a White Man, Brett Hamilton. In fact, her #TragicArragment apparently becomes a part of the text we're reading. During last week's session, Wilkerson continues to describe her 8 pillars of caste. An astute listener compared her 8 pillars to Neely Fuller Jr.'s 9 area of people activity. She detailed how Whites in the U.S. and in Nazi Germany restricted access on marriage just as the dominant caste in India. However, she repeatidly declines to describe White sexual abuse of black people as rape. She also ignores that black males and children were and are routinely the victims of White male and female rapists.

During last week's session, Wilkerson details similarities between Nazi Germany and the U.S. She noted that the Nazi's believed some aspects of the U.S. segregation laws were too stringent for Germany. Wilkerson's emphasizes the "separation" between Whites and black people. However, this is a common error. According to Wilkerson's own work, Whites are not "separate" from non-white people. While detailing the pillars of caste, Wilkerson describes how White enslavers were invited to "impregnate the women" they owned. According to logic, this is accurately called: rape.
