BTR News host Scotty Reid spoke with activist, author and poet Lupe Family who joined us from NYC to discuss the off-broadway play "Black Panther Women" which focuses on the women of the Black Panther Party, a revolutionary socialist organization that was destroyed by the FBI COINTELPRO using assassinations and terrorism directed at members. The play also highlights the Black Panther Party's 10-Point Program.

The parliament of South Africa has voted to back a motion to amend the countries constitution to allow for expropriation of land without compensating the whites who are on that land. The African National Congress has long been promising reforms to redress disparities that are a result of racism against the Black population and two decades after the end of South Africa's apartheid government, white South Africans are in possession of most of South Africa’s land following centuries of brutal colonial dispossession and theft of that land.

Sheriff Scott Israel, a Democrat in the mold of disgraced former Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr, is resisting calls for his resignation over his deputies handling of the mass shooting allegedly confessed to by a former student, 19 yr-old Nickolas Cruz.

I've been saying it for six years, the USA did not and has never abolished slavery and that it is still legal under certain conditions and that condition is that a person first has to be convicted of a criminal offense, In a system practicing both slavery and racism, it is easy to make slaves by way of the criminal courts.

However, it is very alarming that you have a corporation called the NCAA representing the college sports industry is citing the 13th Amendment in declaring they have a right to practice slavery using student-athletes that generate billions annually for the NCAA, participating colleges and universities, television networks and many others. To add insult to injury, the student-athletes are forbidden by their corporate masters from benefitting from their own images and likenesses or risk losing their scholarships and amateur sports status.
