This week’s episode covers the 1960 Italian horror “Black Sunday”. Mario Bava, who had directed other films previously, but always uncredited, received his first actual credit here. A gory and violent movie for the time, it was banned in the UK until 1968. In the US, some scenes were censored and it was shown as a double feature with the completely different Little Shop of Horrors.

Georges Franju’s 1960 classic gets a watch this week. Not much loved at the time of release, this film has since gone on to influence other directors (and Billy Idol).

1959’s Roger Corman feature “A Bucket of Blood” gets a rundown this week. Beatniks, poets and some ridiculous sculptures abound. Dig it daddy-o’s! Starring the late, great Dick Miller.

Tod Browning’s 1932 cult classic “Freaks” gets a walk-through this week. Join us as we talk about Schlitzie, Prince Randian, Johnny Eck, Koo Koo and the rest of this fantastic cast.
