Vincent Price performs murder with magic in this week's movie the Mad Magician from 1954. Illusion creator Gallico kills those who stand in his way of becoming a great magician using buzzsaws, fire, and karate chops!

The 1959 sci-fi monster flick the Monster of Piedras Blancas is covered this week. The IMDB synopsis pretty much covers it: "A doctor, a sheriff and a biologist pursue a creature hanging around a lighthouse." The monster terrorizes a small coastal village at a snails pace, removing the heads of the townsfolk. Bad acting takes top billing in this film and a crab is shot to death for no reason. (The episode erroneously art says the Monster FROM Piedras Blancas, but I don't feel like fixing it)

The 1946 film House of Horrors is featured this week. A struggling New York City artist befriends the murderous Creeper and eventually gets him to kill the critics that lambast his work. Featuring Rondo Hatton as the spine-snapping Creeper.

The 1944 film the Lodger, an adaptation of the 1913 novel of the same name (as opposed to the 1927, 1932, or 1953 film adaptations) is discussed. The mysterious Mr. Slade takes up residence in the home of the rightfully suspicious Bontings amidst a spree of murders taking place in nearby Whitechapel, the gruesome handy work of Jack the Ripper!

The 1961 Hammer film Scream of Fear (aka Taste of Fear) is discussed. Areas covered include a young Christopher Lee affecting a French accent, a corpse in a tiny swimming pool, and wheelchair murder antics.

1962's Hands of a Stranger is discussed. A concert pianist has his hands replaced with those of a murdered stranger after a horrible car accident. He gets mad and kills some people as his sister falls in love with the doctor that performed the controversial procedure.

The 1943 film the Leopard Man, the final team-up of Val Lewton and Jaques Tourneur, is covered this time. Is an escaped leopard terrorizing a sleepy New Mexico town? Maybe. Are there copious amounts of rapid fire castanet playing? Definitely! This was one of the first movies to attempt the presence of a serial killer before the classification even existed! 

The experimental 1955 film Dementia is discussed this week. Containing elements of horror and film noir, no dialogue, close ups of fried chicken being eaten, and an extended jazz sequence, this movie was pretty well-received amongst the hosts as a refreshing change of pace.

1943 was a lean year for horror and Dead Men Walk is proof. An interesting take on vampirism was found to be underwhelming by the co-hosts of this program. However, Dwight Frye puts in a solid performance as a manic servant to a mostly ineffective undead fella.

The 1943 Universal threequel Son of Dracula is this week's topic of discussion. Lon Chaney Jr. stars as the cleverly named Count Aculard creeping about New Orleans swamplands with plans to make it his new turf with help from occult enthusiast, Katherine. This was much better than the co-hosts of this program thought it would be with some spooky cinematography and great special effects. Spoiler: someone tries to put out a fire with wood.
