Eddie Olczyk has done it all in the NHL and it all started in his hometown. The Blackhawks made Olczyk the #3 overall pick in 1984. That year, he would score a goal in his first game against Detroit at Chicago Stadium. Olczyk went on to play for 5 other teams before ending his career as a Blackhawk. He was broadcasting for the Pittsburgh Penguins before taking over as their head coach, then returning to team up on TV with legendary broadcasters Pat Foley with the Hawks, and Doc Emerick nationally. But his biggest win was beating colon cancer, and inspiring countless others, to get checked.
