Vocalist and announcer Wayne Messmer has performed the National Anthem at different venues all over town with his booming baritone voice, but one performance stands out: The 1991 NHL All Star Game at Chicago Stadium. With Operation Desert Storm underway, emotions were running high as Messmer delivered stirring renditions of “O’ Canada” and “The Star Spangled Banner” while the fans stood and cheered, many waving the Stars and Stripes.
