Well, we're still in a quarantine but the brave men at Bledsoe's Basement Tapes stay six feet away and still make a mediocre podcast for you. This week the guys play a game of "Is This Racehorse Name Real?" and Roo enlightens everyone by explaining the actual, official rules that apply when naming a race horse. Adam asks Drew about his best endorsement stories and Drew recounts filming cringeworthy commercials for McDonalds and Ford in the 90s. Tony Graziani drops by and shares some hilariously amazing stories from his time with the Falcons in the NFL and their "extracirricular activities." Adam shares his not so subtle thoughts on living on lockdown during the coronavirus and resorting to watching videos of hippopotimuses. Don't miss this week's episode of Bledsoe's Baesment Tapes!
On Episode Seven the gang welcomes back Oregon great and NFL quarterback Tony Graziani and local Dr. Ben Grieb and drown their quarantine sorrows six feet away with a lot of beer...ALOT of beer. The crew discusses how quarantine life is like an apocalyptic "Lifetime" movie. Roo shares quarantine business ideas, while Adam recounts cutting his finger off in a wood chipper. Drew shares the moment he realized he might be a super hero when he threw a football into a sunroof to win a fan a Camry. Graziani drops some jokes and Roo shares some local news! Lots of beverages and laughs were had in the basement on this one!
This week the Bledsoe brothers and Roo Carmichael welcome friend and neighborhood dentist Dr. Ben Grieb where they discuss everything from why the XFL is great, to remembering where you were when you found out Magic Johnson had AIDS. Roo hosts a new game called "Celebrity Dead or Alive," which is pretty self explanatory, yet deceivingly difficult for the rest of them. Adam discusses why curling sucks to play despite it looking fun on TV, and Roo breaks down the night where their family cockatiel had a night terror and freaked the f*@k out. He also enlightens everyone with a pamphlet on cockatiel night terrors and how to avoid them (riveting content!). Drew asks the crew for some good back handed compliments and Roo shares local news!
This week Drew, Adam and Roo welcome friend and fellow NFL quarterback and arena football hall of famer, Tony Graziani! Listen in as Adam, Drew and Tony disect: the not-so-sublte differences in rules between indoor football and the NFL; why centers should never fart on a quarterback's hands; Tony talks about going on the tour bus for a few days with Fifty Cent and remembers the surreal and hilarious time he alone sang happy birthday to Jon Bon Jovi on stage at Madison Square Garden and then hopped on Jon's jet to the Bahamas. Classic Graziani! Drew, Adam and Roo tell the story of drinking and doing karaoke with Tonya Harding in Sisters Oregon. Roo remembers a sad birthday where his parents took him to the carwash to celebrate, and shares some local news and sponsors. This week's episode brought to you by our friends at Boston Scally - www.bostonscally.com!
On the fourth episode of Bledsoe's Basement Tapes Rick Mirer is back! After their time in the NFL Drew and Rick both found themselves in the wine business with their wineries Doubleback and Mirror Wines respectively. Tune in to listen to them discuss building a wine business after life in the NFL. Roo sponsors a portion of the highway in Oregon. Drew goes to the mailbag and talks about meeting Tom Cruise on the set of Jerry Macguire; Jim tries to name five NFL teams; Drew remembers his time with Aaron Hernandez and learns some very interesting things about him (hint: jammies). Rick Mirer talks about getting fined for eating a hot dog while playing for the Seahawks. Drew shares stories of NFL lineman getting in fights in the locker room! Adam talks about avoiding getting hazed at Boulder and Roo shares what hazing was like on his basketball team at a Christian college. All of this in twenty-eight mediocre minutes!
Drew welcomes friend and former NFL quarterback Rick Mirer! In 1993 Drew and Rick were the first and second round draft picks and became fast friends rather than enemies. Now they both own wineries and play a lot of golf. It's a rough life after the NFL. Tune in to find out who the toughest coaches were for the both of them, get rookie year stories of hanging with Elway and Marino, a new "Obscure Phrase of the Week" with Adam Bledsoe, and some Roo's News with Roo Carmichael!
On episode two of Bledsoe's Basement Tapes the crew debuts the segment "I Can't Tell That Story with Drew Bledsoe" about some crazy times in the NFL; "Local Announcements" with Roo Carmichael; Jim and Roo try to trick Drew and Adam with a game of "College Bowl Game Names: True or False." Roo shares how he killed the family pet while being intimate with his wife; Finally the guys talk about baby names you don't hear more. For all of the Sharons, Karens, Chucks and Dicks out there we apologize in advance.
On the very first Bledsoe’s Basement Tapes Drew and the gang get right into it and discuss how to properly trash-talk on the field in the NFL, and what it’s like being sacked by a 250 lb. linebacker. Roo debut's his segment episode's “Local Announcements” where he finds the catches us up on the odd happenings in central Oregon. Drew dips into the mailbag and answers questions from fans; and Jim and Adam get into a heated brother-in-law argument as to whether an NFL lineman could survive in the octagon against a UFC fighter. Which he obviously can’t. There’s just no chance.
