In this episode, we address some of the questions we have been receiving from facebook. Today we talk about how exactly to navigate parenting when you have different parenting styles, how to parent different aged children, and what to do when your home seems chaotic and you cannot gain control.

In this episode we give a little life update and talk about the importance of community. We dive into the need for fellowship and relationship in order to navigate life, kids, marriage, and especially a blended family. We truly are all better together!

We are back for Season 2!

We wrapped up Season 1 this summer and are excited to start Season 2! In this episode we give a little life update and also talk about navigating divorce and life after divorce as a Christian. There are so many questions that run through one's head during this season, including: Does God forgive divorce? Does He still have a plan for me? Can I ever get remarried?

Join us as we journey this road together.

On this episode, we re-introduced ourselves, while answering questions from a few of our Facebook groups. We appreciate all the love and support and hope you are enjoying the podcast as much as we enjoy making it. We realize there are not a lot of resources or space for blended families, who are looking for love and support. We want to continue to offer that, particularly within the christian blended family community. We will continue our bi-weekly posts and have recently created a Blended Blessings TikTok, Instagram and a Facebook group that we encourage you to join and participate in. We hope to continue to create a resource and environment where people can share their success as well as their failures. In this episode, we talk about the importance of health, including physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing. In order to be the best parent, you must first take care of yourself. Just as you are told to put on your own lifejacket and air mask, take the time to get yourself right and to find balance in your own life. You cannot pour from an empty cup.

In this episode, we dive into ways we work to effectively communicate with each other, with God, with our children and even with exes.

We feel daily communication is essential, not only to a marriage, but also towards your relationship with God.

Healthy communication is also the key to building healthy relationships with your children and creating appropriate boundaries on social media, with anyone you co-parent with and finally, with anyone who is not a positive light in your life.

While it is not always easy to relate to children, specifically ones that are not your own; we offer a few suggestions and also provide ways you can develop a strong, healthy relationship that is not only nurturing, but also provides your children an appropriate outlet that can last a lifetime.

We just read a meme that says, "A perfect marriage is just two imperfect people, who refuse to give up on each other."

We need to ask ourselves, are the people in our life supporting the best version of us, or are they creating toxic ties that always seem to unravel our day? Now we must ask ourselves, if the person that comes to mind was some random stranger, would we allow them the freedom to walk all over us, to control and manipulate every aspect of our existence?

We believe in doing everything possible to salvage a marriage, or any relationship for that matter, and we believe family comes first. With that said, there are just some people in our lives, who we don't need dragging us down.

In this episode, we talk about identifying those people that are simply "downers", and strengthening the relationships with those who are "uppers". Just as a healthy marriage relies on imperfections and bases itself on a refusal to fail; our relationship with God never wavers. As we learn to put Him first, and to rely on His direction, He helps us to navigate the ups and downs of daily living and allows us to live in freedom. He truly is greater than the highs and the lows.

In this episode, we talk about what we feel a healthy marriage consists of. We go into the five love languages, prioritizing your spouse, working together in ministry, incorporating God into your marriage and even some of the common misconceptions (50/50, you complete me, etc). We believe, a healthy marriage involves 3, and that God must be the center in order for any relationship to last. Please join us as we discuss the do's and don'ts of marriage, what works for us, and even ways we need to work to improve our own marriage.

In this episode we will dive into our faith and share the redemption you find in your life with Christ. We talk about how He is our magical gorilla glue and what makes us new and refined. We will even dive into the ups and downs of our life as a Christian, and how God brought us through even the darkest of times and how we know He has never and will never leave us or forsake us.

In this episode we will talk about the importance of positive reinforcement, as well as, how to eliminate arguments and gain control of your household. Through patience and a focus on intrinsic motivation, we will demonstrate how we work to focus on positive behaviors while ignoring the negative and mundane. With time you too can learn to gain control over your day to day while also teaching your children that you are in charge and that they can either behave or spend a few minutes practicing the positive behaviors you want to see in them.
