Blended Families Ministry Class 11 of 12 Spring 2017

In this lesson you learn of some of the reasons why emotions should be controlled by you instead of them controlling you. You will also learn that self-control is highly valued by God. You gain a deeper understanding and insight of how truly significant self-control is in your journey to become Christ-like.

Emotion is not in and of itself evil or bad. It’s a necessary part of your life. It’s what produces the “fight or Flight” ability when when you get into a dangerous situation. Fear can help keep you out of trouble, but it can also paralyze you when you should be doing something constructive.

Forgiveness and Acts of the Spirit

This lesson will dig deeper into forgiveness and then compares the fruits of the Holy Spirit with work of the flesh. Getting to know yourself from God's viewpoint is a a good first step in understanding why you need to be forgiven as well as willing to forgive.

There is freedom to be gained by believing God. Tere is bondage to be suffered by believing the lies of the Devil.

The basic differences between teaching, correction and disipline.

God intended for you to be obedient to His Word but gave you free will to choose between obedience and rebellion. He loved us enough to give you boundaries to keep you out of trouble. One of God's principals is "Ask, and ye shall receive". You're asking for trouble whenever you step outside those boundaries and that's what you'll receive.
