In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives us the Beatitudes. They seem counter-intuitive. It is the merciful, the persecuted, the mourners, who will be blessed. Take a look and ask yourself, how much of this forms my life? Do I see myself blessed when I’m poor in spirit? Do I see myself blessed when I mourn my sin? Do I see myself blessed when I’m meek? Open your heart to the Holy Spirit.
Sr Ann reflects on today’s readings:
1 Kings 17:1-6
Psalm 121:1bc-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8
Matthew 5:1-12
