And He doesn’t hear them as a multitude of voices – he knows and hears every person’s unique voice. “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened And I will give you rest.”

July 07, 2026 Laborers in the Vineyard - Readings for 7/7/26
In today’s Gospel, Jesus declares that the harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few. He looks out over the crowds and is moved with pity, for they are sheep without a shepherd. When we make a conscious decision to follow Jesus, we become laborers in His fields. We don’t have to be lost sheep, for we have a shepherd who loves us.

July 03, 2026 "The Days of Comfortable Christianity are Over" - Readings for 7/5/26
At the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in 2014, law professor Robert P George observed that the “Days of Comfortable Christianity are over.” As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we should take some time to reflect on who we are as citizens of the United States, but also citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. We will pay a price for our witness to the Gospel, but Jesus will be there - as He promises in this Sunday’s Gospel - to help us bear the burden.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells a paralytic man that his sins are forgiven, and then commands him to rise up and walk. The Scribes and Pharisees are scandalized that Jesus would claim to have the authority to forgive sins. But if we repent, He will do the same for us. Don’t be afraid to humble yourself before the Lord and ask Him to forgive you.
