ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਚਉਪਦੇ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਸੁਖ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੨॥ ਏਕੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੩॥ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਸੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਸਹਜੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣਿ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥ ਅਰਥ: (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਗਏ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਨਾਹ ਇਹ (ਖ਼ਰਚਿਆਂ) ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਗਵਾਚਦਾ ਹ ੈ। (ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਔਗੁਣ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਹੁਲਾਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਇਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਜਨੋ! ਇਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖੋ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਤੇਰ-ਮੇਰ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਾਲ) ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ। (ਹਾਂ,) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ) ਪਤੀਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।DHANAASAREE, THIRD MEHL, SECOND HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:This wealth is inexhaustible. It shall never be exhausted, and it shall never be lost. The Perfect True Guru has revealed it to me. I am forever a sacrifice to my True Guru. By Guru’s Grace, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind. || 1 || They alone are wealthy, who lovingly attune themselves to the Lord’s Name. The Perfect Guru has revealed to me the Lord’s treasure; by the Lord’s Grace, it has come to abide in my mind. || Pause || He is rid of his demerits, and his heart is permeated with merit and virtue. By Guru’s Grace, he naturally dwells in celestial peace. True is the Word of the Perfect Guru’s Bani. They bring peace to the mind, and celestial peace is absorbed within. || 2 || O my humble Siblings of Destiny, behold this strange and wonderful thing: duality is overcome, and the Lord dwells within his mind. The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is priceless; it cannot be taken. By Guru’s Grace, it comes to abide in the mind. || 3 || He is the One God, abiding within all. Through the Guru’s Teachings, He is revealed in the heart. One who intuitively knows and realizes God, O Nanak, obtains the Naam; his mind is pleased and appeased. || 4 || 1 ||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਵਰ ਦੀਨੇ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਜੀਅ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ਤਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਰਾਖਾ) ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਕੇ) ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਦੋਂ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਏ।੨।੫।੬੯।

SORAT’H, FIFTH MEHL:

I am a sacrifice to my Guru. He has totally preserved my honor. I have obtained the fruits of my mind’s desires. I meditate forever on my God. || 1 || O Saints, without Him, there is no other at all. He is God, the Cause of causes. || Pause || My God has given me His Blessing. He has made all creatures subject to me. Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and all his sorrows depart. || 2 || 5 || 69 ||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਤਉ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੰਤੁ ਮਨਾਇ ॥ ਮਤੁ ਸੇਜੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਏਵੈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਪਿਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥ ਕੀਆ ਤਉ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਸਹੁ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ਭਉ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਤਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਉਪੇ ਕੰਤ ਕਉ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੋਗੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ! ਤਦੋਂ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਏਂ, (ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ) ਮਤਾਂ ਖਸਮ ਸੇਜ ਤੇ ਆਵੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਹ ਤੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਐਵੇਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਏ। ਹੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ! ਜੇ ਖਸਮ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੰਨ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਸਮਝ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਖਸਮ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੇ।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ (ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਨ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ) ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਕਾਜਲ ਫੂਲ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਲੇ ਧਨ ਕੀਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥ ਸੇਜੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਏਵੈ ਭਇਆ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸੁਰਮਾ, ਫੁੱਲ ਤੇ ਪਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਪਰ ਜੇ) ਖਸਮ ਸੇਜ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਸਗੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਇਹ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ) ।੨।ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਏਹਿ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਬਹਨਿ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਏਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥ ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ (ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) ਰਲ ਕੇ ਬਹਿਣ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਖਸਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਜਿਸਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਕੋ ਆਤਮਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਪਤੀ।੩।ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਭੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਭਉ ਊਪਜੈ ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ ਭਉ ਭਾਉ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥੯॥ ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ (ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ) ; ਇਹ ਡਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲੇ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਡਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਨਾਲ) ਹਉਮੈ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਇਹ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ) ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।੯।Shalok, Third Mehl:O bride, decorate yourself, after you surrender and accept your Husband Lord.Otherwise, your Husband Lord will not come to your bed, and your ornaments will be useless.O bride, your decorations will adorn you, only when your Husband Lord's Mind is pleased.Your ornaments will be acceptable and approved, only when your Husband Lord loves you.So make the Fear of God your ornaments, joy your betel nuts to chew, and love your food.Surrender your body and mind to your Husband Lord, and then, O Nanak, He will enjoy you. ||1||Third Mehl:The wife takes flowers, and fragrance of betel, and decorates herself.But her Husband Lord does not come to her bed, and so these efforts are useless. ||2|lThird Mehl:They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together.They alone are called husband and wife, who have one light in two bodies. ||3||Pauree:Without the Fear of God, there is no devotional worship, and no love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord.Meeting with the True Guru, the Fear of God wells up, and one is embellished with the Fear and the Love of God.When the body and mind are imbued with the Lord's Love, egotism and desire are conquered and subdued.The mind and body become immaculately pure and very beautiful, when one meets the Lord, the Destroyer of egoFear and love all belong to Him; He is the True Lord, permeating and pervading the Universe. ||9||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੧  ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਕਾਪੜੁਅੰਗਿ ਚੜਾਇਆ ॥ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਿਉ ਜਿਤੁ ਹੁਣਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਪਉੜੀ ਛੁੜਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਨਆਵੈ ਅਹਿਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਣਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਤੈ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਿਆਏਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥ ਮੁਕਤ ਬੰਧ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸਾ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਧਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਚੈਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੇ ਸਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁਪਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਾਲਹਿ ਮਾਰਿਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਣੇ) ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੂੰ (ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, (ਨੱਕ ਕੰਨ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ। (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਖਾਣਾਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸੌਣਾ (ਸੁਖ-ਆਰਾਮ) ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਪਹਿਨਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ। (ਹੇਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਲਈ ਪੌੜੀ ਹੈ) ਜੇ ਇਹ ਪੌੜੀ (ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਹੱਥਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਬੜਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈਂ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ(ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ-ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।

ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ। ਥਿਰਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਨਾਹ ਉਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਜੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਜੋਗੇ।੩।

(ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ (ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਭੀ, ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧।

Worldly rulers, kings, and the wealthy may enjoy temporary pleasures, but without the Divine Name, they remain spiritually bankrupt. Ultimately, they face spiritual death and must account for their actions before the Righteous Judge (Dharma Rai), leaving them in deep regret.

* A Prayer for Humility and Protection:

The Guru models ultimate humility, calling himself a mere worm seeking the sanctuary of the Creator. He prays for the blessed vision (Darshan) of the saints to find peace and begs the Almighty for even a single moment of the gift of Naam.

> The Essence: True peace does not lie in worldly power or sensory pleasures. It is found only by surrendering one's ego to the Guru, seeking the sanctuary of the Divine, and remaining forever dedicated to the nectar of the Lord's Name (Naam).

The fear of birth and death has been erased, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad; serving the Unmoving, Unchanging Lord, I am absorbed in peace. || 1 || O my mind, vibrate the Name of the most Beloved, Darling Lord. I have dedicated my mind and body, and placed them in offering before the Guru; I have sold my head to the Guru, for a very dear price. || 1 || Pause || The kings and the rulers of men enjoy pleasures and delights, but without the Name of the Lord, death seizes and dispatches them all. The Righteous Judge of Dharma strikes them over the heads with his staff, and when the fruits of their actions come into their hands, then they regret and repent. || 2 || Save me, save me, Lord; I am Your humble servant, a mere worm. I seek the Protection of Your Sanctuary, O Primal Lord, Cherisher and Nourisher. Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Saint’s Darshan, that I may find peace. O God, please fulfill the desires of Your humble servant. || 3 || You are the All-powerful, Great, Primal God, my Lord and Master. O Lord, please bless me with the gift of humility. Servant Nanak has found the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and is at peace; I am forever a sacrifice to the Naam. || 4 || 2 ||ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅੱਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਇਵਜ਼ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹਰੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਰਿੱਦ੍ਰ, ਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਪਛਤਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ!

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥ ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੩੬।DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything. They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. || 1 || They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand. Looking around, this way and that, the greedy people come and go. || Pause || As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found. Says Nanak, he alone is a Saint, a devotee, and a humble servant of the Lord, to whom the Lord and Master is merciful. || 2 || 5 || 36 ||
