Loneliness is often something that follows discouragement. We tend to feel that there is no one in our lives to talk to or share our thoughts with, a shoulder to cry on, etc. We should pray for a blessed spiritual family and friends as sometimes we find ourselves opening up to them more. For instance, take the life of Jesus, he gave so much importance to his spiritual family as compared to his biological one. But there will be instances where we feel left out from our spiritual family.
We see in the life of David where he was in a situation in which nobody in his life was there to support him. And David regardless of all the travesty in his life, he strengthened himself in the Lord.
There are two main ways to overcome loneliness; with spiritual friendships and long lasting bonds, and being aware that God is always with you.
Let us read some scriptural passages regarding this:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.””
The Spirit of God is always with us wherever we go.
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
With these verses from the Bible you can fight against loneliness.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God has loved us with an inseparable love so never feel lonely or unwanted!
