WHAT A PASSIONATE STORY! LOVED IT!
Leah was absolute perfection. She was strong and independent, secure in her blindness, passionate, loving, caring .... I could go on. Kudos to Bonnie Dee for giving us a true heroine, in more ways than one! You see, Leah has a disability. She is blind. And her parents have guarded her and taken care of her since the accident that took her sight but she is more than ready to take on the world on her own. And she does! LOVED HER!
JD, the neighbor, is our hero. He's no ordinary neighbor. He's been hired by her Leah's family to look out for her, unbeknownst to Leah, of course! JD and Leah actually met BEFORE he was hired and he already knew he was attracted to the 'brunette at the bar'. LOL How they met? Leah and her girlfriend went out one evening to a bar and JD and his friend were at the same bar just out on a night having a good time. When they bumped into each other accidentally SPARKS flew!! When he gets the job as her security 'detail' of course he jumps on it.
Leah and JD had passion and chemistry that you could feel thru the pages. As they both form a friendship, JD begins to realize he is in WAY deep and maybe he wouldn't be able to get out. Remember, Leah has no clue that he is actually there, hired by her parents, to look out for her. So the lies start piling up! Will they both be able to adjust to the truth and live HEA? ....
This book was amazingly good! We get both their perspectives in the story due to the dual POV. I think that is ALWAYS a plus in a story. It makes the story more well rounded and not so one-sided. We got to feel both their struggles!
You cannot go wrong with this story! TRUST!
Emotionally Intense Read With Very Strong Secondary Characters!
As a disabled person I'm drawn to stories that depict the trials and tribulations of our lives in a vivid and believable way. Ms. Dee has quickly become my go-to author in meeting my needs as many of her title deals with disabilities. In this series starter a young woman recently blinded in a car accident is struggling to make it on her own, getting out from under the protection of her parents while dealing with her own insecurities and fears in an easily relatable. With her parents still scared for her safety though they unbeknownst to her hire a sexy Southerner just returned from the war and just as lost and scared of the future as she is.
