Binance's spot trading volume fell by over 20%, reducing its market share to 27%, the lowest since September 2020. 👀 Kraken Digital Asset Exchange is delisting Monero (XMR) for clients in the European Economic Area (EEA) due to regulatory changes. Starting October 31, 2024, at 15:00 PM UTC, trading and deposits of XMR will stop, and all open XMR orders will be closed. Clients can withdraw XMR until December 31, 2024. After that, Kraken will automatically convert any remaining XMR into Bitcoin (BTC) at the market rate, with the converted BTC distributed by January 6, 2025. 💃🏻 Caroline Ellison, the former head of Alameda Research, was sentenced to 2 years in prison for her role in the FTX collapse. She will serve her time in a minimum-security facility. Judge Lewis Kaplan of the District Court of Southern New York also ordered her to forfeit around $11 billion she earned from the company. 🟠 River, a leading U.S. Bitcoin exchange, has introduced "River Proof of Reserves," allowing clients to verify that their Bitcoin holdings are fully backed in multi-sig cold storage. CEO Alexander Leishman emphasized that this move aims to rebuild trust after the failures of exchanges like FTX, setting a new industry standard for transparency. 😱BingX exchange was hacked on Sept. 20, 2024, with $52 million stolen. Withdrawals for USDT, USDC, Bitcoin, Ether, Tron, and Solana will resume on Sept. 21, with other assets following in two weeks. BingX reassured users that most funds were in cold storage, $10 million has been frozen, and they are working with security firms to recover funds. The exchange confirmed it has enough reserves to cover any losses.

🚨 At the Breakpoint 2024 event, Coinbase’s Singapore country director revealed plans to introduce "cbBTC" — a wrapped Bitcoin asset — to the Solana network. While no specific launch date was provided, Coinbase explained that cbBTC will be backed 1:1 with Bitcoin held by the exchange.
