🚨A federal judge has ruled that cryptocurrency exchange Kraken Digital Asset Exchange must face a lawsuit brought against it by U.S. regulators. 👀 MetaMask has launched the pilot of MetaMask Card, a Mastercard payment card that allows users to spend crypto directly from their MetaMask wallets wherever Mastercard is accepted. Initially available to a limited group in the EU and UK, the card eliminates the need for traditional banks, offering a seamless spending experience with cryptocurrencies like USDC, USDT, and WETH. The card works like a debit card, maintaining control over funds until payment. Integration with Apple Pay and Google Pay is also available. 🌟 Tari token in less than a month on 12th September. Tari aims to simplify cryptocurrency mining by allowing users to mine Tari tokens using regular computers, similar to early Bitcoin mining. Tari will use a proof-of-work algorithm and benefit from Monero’s security via merge mining but remains a separate blockchain. The project includes airdropped tokens for community engagement and features two mining modes: ECO for low-resource use and Ludicrous for higher intensity. - Franklin Templeton has filed to launch the Franklin Crypto Index ETF (ticker: EZPZ), which aims to expose investors to a range of crypto funds. The ETF would track the CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, initially including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Coinbase will serve as the custodian for the fund. 👀 Ethereum's gas fees plummeted to a five-year low last week. The fees represent a more than 95% drop from the 83.1 gwei levels in March when the network saw a spike in activity. 

- The decrease, with fees dropping to as low as 0.6 gwei, is seen as a potential bullish sign for ether (ETH) prices, according to analyst Ryan Lee. The drop is attributed to reduced demand for Ethereum’s block space and the migration of activity to faster, cheaper blockchains like Solana and Layer 2 solutions, along with improvements from the Dencun upgrade. 🟢 A Nigerian court has frozen $38 million of $50 million in cryptocurrency allegedly sent to support protests against rising inflation. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) requested the freeze on four wallets tied to the #EndBadGovernance protests. Authorities claim that the cryptocurrency contributed to the naira's devaluation and inflation. The freeze is part of a broader crackdown on crypto and exchanges like Binance, which Nigeria accuses of facilitating untraceable fund transfers and tax revenue loss.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.2 per cent on a seasonally adjusted basis, after declining 0.1 per cent in June, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. 🟣 Metaplanet, a Japanese investment firm, bought ¥500 million ($3.4 million) more Bitcoin, bringing its total to 303 BTC acquired for ¥2.95 billion ($20 million). The firm aggressively expanded its Bitcoin reserves through a stock rights offering and a ¥1 billion loan, mirroring MicroStrategy's strategy of using debt to accumulate Bitcoin as a hedge against yen depreciation. 🔴The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed fraud charges against NovaTech and its promoters, accusing them of running a $650 million crypto pyramid scheme that defrauded over 200,000 investors, mostly Haitian Americans. Led by founders Cynthia and Eddy Petion, NovaTech falsely promised high crypto and forex trading returns but instead used new investors' funds to pay earlier ones. The scheme collapsed in 2023 after withdrawal delays and regulatory actions. The SEC seeks injunctions, disgorgement, and penalties. Promoter Martin Zizi has agreed to a partial settlement.
