  • Acyan's "Ghost Town" EP Is Bass Music Storytelling at Its Most Ominous

In a musical era saturated with releases expressly designed for virality, Acyan’s new Ghost Town EP delivers a breath of hauntingly fresh air. Out now via Wubaholics, the five-track project growls and groans with the eerie ambience of the forgotten towns that inspired it.

There’s an honesty to Ghost Town that makes it stand apart. Acyan, whose day job as a Fort Collins bus driver lends him an unpretentious mystique, brings a rare depth of intent. Where others settle for filthy beats and call it a day, he built a narrative shaped by a solo road trip through rural America.

Ghost Town is a post-industrial tone poem told through trap beats both unsettling and captivating. The opening track “RAVEN” sets the scene with delirious, claustrophobic energy that evokes the terror of being followed by a malicious entity. But it remains curiously danceable, a tightly coiled track that presents Acyan as both technician and storyteller.

“KEOTA” follows with more grime, unease and cleverness with delicately crafted sound design that conveys Acyan's chaotic emotional state. A tempo switch in the second drop adds notable flair, seeming as if the track itself is dodging ghosts. Each element feels ominously lab-grown, but the track's emotional potency keeps it afloat in a way that no amount of technical know-how could.

By the time we reach the EP's closer "URAVAN," the tone shifts. It’s not quite catharsis, but it’s something like a sunrise over an empty landscape. Airier and quietly triumphant, it rounds out the EP with a brief release from the existential dread preceding it.

With support from icons like Skrillex and RL Grime, and a fast-climbing profile bolstered by high-profile festival performances, Acyan is emerging as a force to be reckoned with in bass music. Ghost Town feels like a message sent from the edge of isolation, but it's sure to bring people together through its unique sonic identity and depth.

  • Mike Posner Reclaims The Dancefloor With "Cooler Than Me" Remix Pack

15 years after telling the world off with a synth hook and smirk, Mike Posner is back to prove his breakthrough debut single still runs the dancefloor. Armed with five heavy-hitting reworks and a brand-new vocal from Posner himself, Dim Mak Records has released a remix pack to breathe new life into "Cooler Than Me."

The timing is no accident. Posner is set to make a high-profile appearance at EDC Las Vegas this weekend, and the EP, dubbed Headliner Remix Pack, sets the stage with ample firepower. Notably, it's also the first of three planned remix projects the artist will be releasing in partnership with Steve Aoki's storied label.

For Posner, whose crossover appeal crystallized with SeeB's hit remix of "I Took A Pill in Ibiza" back in 2015, the remix bundle is a return to his roots with renewed perspective. "Cooler Than Me" was both his debut single and breakthrough, breaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching multi-Platinum status worldwide.

The new remixes span a range of textures and tones, each transforming the original into something entirely its own. Deorro delivers a maximum-impact mainstage rework while Daniel Allan pulls the track into a UK garage groove, tightening the rhythm into a kinetic bounce.

Getter, making a rare return to electronic music production, brings snarling basslines and mechanical grit. 4B crashes through with trap artillery while NIIKO x SWAE slow it down with a smoother, deep house gloss that simmers beneath Posner’s re-sung vocal.

  • Immersive Dome Electronic Music Experience Landing in Denver for One Night Only

Because Las Vegas shouldn't have all the fun with immersive entertainment, Denver is now getting its turn through the US debut of "Dome Show 360," an audiovisual experience inspired by the one presented by the Vegas Sphere.

Created by veteran DJ and electronic music producer Damian Force, the show is coming to Denver's Auraria Campus on June 13th, 2025. He says it took him over seven years to develop the "unified narrative" of the cutting-edge show, wherein the entire environment becomes the instrument.

European crowds have already lost their minds at sold-out shows in Madrid and Limassol, according to Force. The one-night-only experience now lands in Denver within an expansive 25-meter dome, with projection-mapping covering every inch of its 500-square-meter surface.

The dome will display story-driven, sci-fi-inspired visuals, enveloping the crowd at the intersection of live electronic music and digital art. Meanwhile, Force, who has played to audiences around the globe from Ibiza to Dubai, will DJ live.

You can check out a trailer for "Dome Show 360" in Denver below and purchase tickets here.

  • Nonprofit Combats Drug Overdose Epidemic With Naloxone Giveaway Before EDC Las Vegas

As EDC Las Vegas kicks off today, the Victoria's Voice Foundation is stepping in with a proactive approach to festival safety by giving away naloxone, the nonprofit tells EDM.com.

Victoria's Voice is hosting a pop-up from 10am to 3pm at the East Tower of the Westgate Las Vegas, where they'll be offering the opioid overdose reversal medication for free in their goal to combat overdose deaths at music festivals.

Festivalgoers can pick up free doses of naloxone along with educational materials on how to administer it. The pop-up will also offer snacks and water for attendees heading into the weekend's festivities.

Victoria’s Voice was founded by Jackie and David Siegel after the tragic 2015 loss of their daughter of the same name. The foundation has since has become a prominent national advocate for drug prevention and awareness.

Today's pop-up is timely considering Nevada has seen a staggering 26% increase in drug overdose deaths, the second-highest nationwide spike behind only Alaska in a one-year period, according to recent CDC data.

The initiative reflects a growing shift in the music industry's approach to harm reduction at EDM festivals. Insomniac Events has been at the forefront, teaming up with the nonprofit End Overdose on various initiatives, including training tens of thousands of EDC Las Vegas attendees at last year's festival.

EDC, North America's largest electronic dance music festival, returns to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from May 16-18.

  • Alok and Łaszewo Team Up With A$AP Rocky for Synth-Fueled Dance Track, "HIGHJACK (right back)"

Alok and Łaszewo have joined forces with A$AP Rocky, sampling his track "HIGHJACK" and reimagining it as a high-energy dance anthem.

If Rocky's darkly expressionistic original was a hostage situation, this new version is the adrenaline-fueled rescue mission. "HIGHJACK (right back)" strips its brooding hip-hop framework and rebuilds it for peak-hour club moments, dialing up the tempo for today's dancefloors.

Originally nestled in smoky, downtempo soundscapes, Rocky's street-wise delivery now floats above Alok and Łaszewo's' kinetic four-on-the-floor beats. This careful blend transforms what could have been a jarring juxtaposition into a symbiotic relationship where his urban cool provides the perfect counterbalance to the production's frenetic energy.

Łaszewo's synth work also stands out as particularly impressive here. The surging electro-pop group layers pulsing chords atop Alok's chugging bass, producing an arrangement that pops with both urgency and atmospherics.

The original "HIGHJACK" dropped in August 2024 as the lead single from Rocky's long-awaited fourth studio album, Don't Be Dumb. The record will feature production from Swedish House Mafia, he revealed back in the summer of 2023.

  • Listen to Axwell and CARMA's Cinematic House Banger, "Until The Lights Go Out"

With his new single "Until The Lights Go Out," Axwell builds a dancefloor where convictions are checked at the door.

Out now via Axtone, "Until The Lights Go Out" captures a raw, almost primal urge to dance until collapse. We've all experienced that weightless feeling of invincibility on the dancefloor, and Axwell, ever the architect of dancefloor catharsis, leans into this tension beautifully alongside CARMA, the duo comprising James Carter and Tom Martin.

Meanwhile, their production is both euphoric and haunting, delivering a four-on-the-floor banger that pulses with cinematic gravitas. Fluttering synths cascade atop a dramatic house drop, one of the highlights of the iconic Swedish House Mafia member's first-ever solo performance at Ultra Miami in March.

The hedonistic house track marks Axwell's return to his own Axtone imprint after a seven-year hiatus, his last solo release coming back in 2018 with "Nobody Else." He recently sold the record label to Pophouse Entertainment but continues to retain a prominent role as Founding Partner and Creative Advisor.

  • Avicii's Legacy Gallops Forward With Escapist Dance Anthem, "Let's Ride Away": Listen

The alchemy that transformed folk storytelling into timeless electronic music wasn't magic—it was Avicii. The late EDM icon's new posthumous collection, Avicii Forever, bottles that transformative formula while adding one new precious element to the equation.

Out today via Interscope, the retrospective compilation couples Avicii's defining catalog with "Let's Ride Away," a previously unreleased collaboration with Elle King. Her vocals about finding one's place hang heavy as an aching statement from an artist who struggled to find his: "It's in the sky, it's in the air / If I get lost, I'll meet you there / We can't stop 'til we find our place / Let's saddle up and ride away."

However, his production remains unmistakably uplifting, true to form for the Swedish dance music legend. The track's anthemic drop features a stentorian horn section that delivers the vintage Avicii catharsis that launched countless festival moments.

"Let's Ride Away" represents one of Bergling's final creative endeavors prior to his tragic 2018 death by suicide at the age of 28. Elsewhere on Avicii Forever, fans can fire up the nostalgia machine through the stadium-filling euphoria of "Levels" and the country-tinged flair of "Wake Me Up," among other generational dance anthems. The full compilation features 19 tracks.

Avicii Forever arrives through a collaborative effort between Bergling's estate and Pophouse Entertainment, which in 2022 acquired 75% of his recording and publishing rights. It marks another chapter in the investment firm's ongoing efforts to preserve and celebrate his contributions, which defined a generation of electronic dance music.

Pophouse is also currently developing a musical about Avicii, whose life was the subject of a recent high-profile intimate Netflix film. Another documentary from the Academy Award-winning filmmaker Lawrence Bender is currently in production and will feature "previously unreleased footage" recorded around the time of Bergling's discovery and rise to fame.

  • ILLENIUM and HAYLA Tap Into Pure Feeling on New Collaboration, "In My Arms"

"In My Arms," the new single from ILLENIUM and HAYLA, captures the rare moment when the right voice and the right production collide at just the right time.

"This one means a lot to me," ILLENIUM said of the new collaboration, his first single after signing to Republic Records. "Raw emotion from start to finish. HAYLA, your voice is magnetic and took this to another level."

The track's first few moments flicker with a quiet tension before opening up into the kind of wide-eyed, emotive drop that fans have come to associate with ILLENIUM's most impactful work. Meanwhile, HAYLA's voice delivers the song’s message with warmth and clarity.

The breakout singer-songwriter's lyricism explores that rare kind of bond where being with someone feels like finally arriving home. She likens it to "the sparks you feel bubbling under your skin when you’re together, but also knowing that you’ll always be their safe space." That mix of comfort and intensity gives the track its emotional pull.

  • Summer Romance Blossoms in VASSY and RSCL's New Dance Anthem, "Beg"

Just before the season of sunburns and serotonin, powerhouse vocalist VASSY has teamed up with Dutch producer RSCL for "Beg," a summery, piano-drenched dance anthem. The track is out now Gemstone Records, the house music offshoot of Hardwell's storied label, Revealed.

VASSY has never been one to hold back. Her voice is bold, unmistakable and built for the kind of tracks that make you feel something. On "Beg," she and RSCL deliver a track that radiates the kind of confidence only dance music with real emotional stakes can pull off.

It's a summer anthem, but one that knows not every heatwave comes without a little ache.

"This track came from a very real place of emotional surrender," VASSY said. "It’s about those moments when pride falls away and you’re just raw, open and honest—sometimes even to the point of heartbreak. Musically, I wanted to bring back that festival energy you know me for, but pair it with vulnerability. I wanted it to feel good and hit hard while still telling a deeper story. That’s always been my lane: emotion with impact."

If "Bad" was VASSY’s leather-clad strut through seduction, then "Beg" is her barefoot run toward something real. There's tension in her lyricism, a plea for connection just beneath the surface of a feel-good veneer: "Don’t make me beg my baby, when it only feels this good with you."

Meanwhile, RSCL's buoyant piano chords and shimmering organ patterns pulse with sunlit energy. His work here is fresh and unpretentious, producing a beat engineered for joy but grounded in feeling.
