Elizabeth McQuiston, the dance-pop artist known professionally as ROZES, has revealed that she is battling breast cancer.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter, whose ethereal vocals feature prominently on The Chainsmokers' billion-plus stream generational dance anthem "Roses," shared the news with fans in a candid Instagram post.
"I have cancer. Breast cancer to be exact," McQuiston said. She went on to explain that the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, adding a layer of complexity to her diagnosis.
The 32-year-old songstress outlined her immediate medical plans, including an MRI to better understand the extent of the cancer, followed by a surgical consultation. Though early in her treatment journey, she expressed determination to fight for her future with her family.
"I don't know much right now, but I do know for sure that I will fight like hell to see my daughter grow up, to be with my husband and watch his hair turn gray one day," she continued. "And whatever the next few days, few weeks, the summer holds for me, I have an amazing support system. And I do plan to lean on them. And my piano."
Throughout her career, ROZES has been known for her openness with fans, often channeling personal experiences into her records. For the artist whose breakout collaborations and solo work have established her as a distinctive voice in electronic-infused pop music, creativity remains central to her coping strategy.
"Creating in any way, shape or form has always given me an outlet. And I will continue to do so," McQuiston affirmed.
We at EDM.com extend our heartfelt support to ROZES, her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Editor's Note: If you or someone you love has been affected by breast cancer, consider reaching out to support networks, licensed counselors or local advocacy organizations. Early detection and emotional support can make a meaningful difference. For more resources, visit the American Cancer Society or BreastCancer.org.

Surging electronic music producer borne has returned to NIGHTMODE with "Go Again," a snarling, club-ready track bound to command dancefloors.
The release marks a bold shift for the Montreal-raised producer, who recently told us he's been heavily experimenting with his production over the past eight years.
"I experimented with everything, and I think that’s important for every producer to do," borne said in the sweeping interview. "Dip your toes into everything and then see what you really enjoy doing."
This fearlessly experimental attitude manifests in "Go Again," where high-octane four-on-the-floor beats collide with gritty synths and warped bass. It's a controlled riot of rhythm and texture, built for the club and fueled by after-hours adrenaline.
“NIGHTMODE has been home to some of my biggest releases and I am excited to bring a new direction with them," borne shared in a press release.
You can listen to "Go Again" below.

Z3LLA's new single "Origami" takes its name seriously, folding together delicate lyricism and evocative production for a euphoric anthem that blooms like paper in motion.
Out now via Steve Aoki's Dim Mak label, the track unfolds methodically, beginning with distant vocal swells and cinematic pads before collapsing into a blissed-out drop with tinctures of vintage trance. Like master origamists calibrating folds and creases, Z3LLA understand when to build tension, when to release it and when to reveal the patterns hidden within.
Lyrically, they prove there's power in the plainspoken. The duo's vocals trace the fragile moment when hope morphs into belief, zeroing in on the emotional geometry of not just wanting someone, but envisioning a life so vividly with them that fantasy begins to feel like memory.
To that end, Z3LLA treat the arrangement like a blueprint for building meaning in moments that haven't happened yet. And they make it sound effortless.

Sherm, Isaac Palmer, Amero and Devarra step into the ring with "Second Round," a tech house banger that fights dirty in all the right ways.,
With the new single, they've found the sweet spot where hip-hop's swagger meets tech house's club sensibilities. Like any good prizefighters returning to the ring, they show off their confidence and production finesse throughout the track.
The arrangement's central lyrical grenade, a simple but effective "back for a second round," works as both earworm and mission statement. A chunky bassline functions as its backbone while driving drum elements keep it perpetually in motion, creating a technical knockout of rhythmic precision.
For Sherm, "Second Round" showcases an artist who's studied the classics but isn't trapped by their conventions.
"Everyone who is familiar with me and my music knows that I love to make club ready records," he explained in a press release. "Tracks that hit live. Tracks that make you feel something different. Tracks that create memories with your friends. 'Second Round' is right in line with that mission and my collaborators on the track had the same mindset."
The new single arrives ahead of Sherm's set at the Coors Light Snake Pit Pre-Party in Indianapolis on May 8th. It's a big moment for the proud IU grad and Indiana native, who will return to the city June 6th for a homecoming headline show before a high-profile performance at Chicago's North Coast Music Festival in late-August.

John Summit is set to headline Folsom Field, the storied stadium nestled in the heart of the University of Colorado campus, for the largest headline show of his career thus far, according to a press release shared with EDM.com.
Summit, whose hits "Where You Are" and "Go Back" have become global dancefloor anthems, is no stranger to commanding iconic venues, having recently sold out Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The dance music superstar is now set to take over Folsom Field for the high-profile concert, organized by AEG Presents Rocky Mountains in collaboration with CU Boulder.
Famed for hosting acts like The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Phish, the 50,000-plus-capacity venue in Boulder will provide a dramatic Rocky Mountain backdrop for what has the feel of a watershed moment for Colorado's EDM scene. It's beloved for its dubstep and bass music community, but Summit will bring his anthemic house sound for a night of electrifying contrast that could signal a bold new chapter.
The show is scheduled for October 18th, 2025. It follows the success of Summit's recent two-day event in nearby Vail hosted by his Experts Only brand, which was recently named 2024's best record label in EDM.com's list of the year's top industry leaders.
Fans can now register for a pre-sale, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 13th at 10am MT. The general on-sale will begin Thursday, May 15th at the same time.

Brooklyn Mirage's planned reopening has been indefinitely postponed due to pending inspection approvals, affecting a series of upcoming shows, Billboard reports.
Originally set to return with a pair of performances by Sara Landry May 2-3, the New York venue was unable to open after failing to secure the necessary permits from building inspectors following recent renovations.
According to a public statement from the venue's operators, Avant Gardner, the revamped Brooklyn Mirage is fully constructed and adheres to updated safety and technical specifications, but final compliance was not achieved in time for inspection deadlines.
"We want to be clear: the venue is show ready and the New Mirage has been built to exacting safety, structural, mechanical and technical specifications," Mirage officials wrote on Instagram. "However, we were not able to meet the final inspection deadline."
More schedule changes have followed as a result. The May 9th show featuring Loud Luxury has been postponed to August 2nd and tickets purchased through DICE will automatically transfer to the new date, with refunds available via their website.
Meanwhile, Cloonee’s May 10th day and night performances will be relocated to the Brooklyn Storehouse. Tickets originally purchased for Mirage will be valid at the new venue, with no additional action required by attendees.
The ongoing delays stem from a broader renovation project that included structural upgrades, a redesigned stage, additional dancefloors and enhancements to sound and lighting systems. The venue now includes over 3,000 LED panels, a 90-foot stage and one of the largest prefabricated timber structures of its kind, according to Avant Gardner CEO Josh Wyatt.
"I can tell you that when you walk into Brooklyn Mirage for the first time, you're going to see a set design that will blow you away," Wyatt told EDM.com in a recent interview. "Then when you come back two weeks or two months later, it's going to look totally different. The type of technology that we're designing to be able to allow us to do that is bespoke and has never been done before—I think it’s pretty mind-blowing."
However, Brooklyn Mirage remains closed until further notice. According to a statement from Avant Gardner, the team is "working closely with city officials" and will continue to provide updates.

Bass music duo EAZYBAKED took their name literally this week, blending nostalgia, art and community engagement through a series of Easy-Bake Ovens.
It started when fans discovered a series of GPS coordinates posted to the duo’s social media. Each pin led to a familiar Denver location that holds meaning in EAZYBAKED’s performance history, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Cervantes and The Black Box.
However, what fans found when they arrived at each location was anything but expected: customized Easy-Bake Ovens containing recipe cards with clues.
When pieced together, the cards revealed details of a new headline show. Each oven was uniquely hand-painted by artists such as Aaron Brooks, RUKU and Rumtum, among others others, giving the entire experience a one-of-a-kind artistic edge.
The campaign led up to the announcement of a milestone performance, EAZYBAKED's upcoming headline of Mission Ballroom, which they ultimately announced as their "biggest show to date." The lineup includes parkbreezy, Torcha, Cambot, jordnmoody b2b Snuffy and an opening set from The Bakers, a side project that longtime fans will recognize.
Tickets for the show on September 5th are on sale here.

REZZ and Chuurch have released a new collaboration, "Telepathy," a track they started producing nine years ago.
Long teased in REZZ's live sets, the song has finally been completed and released today via her own label, HypnoVizion Records. She most recently rinsed it during the sold-out debut of her "PORTAL" show at San Francisco's Cow Palace, where fans were instantly drawn into its gravitational pull.
"Telepathy" embodies everything that makes REZZ’s sound so distinct, luring us into the sort of menacing midtempo arrangement that has become her signature. Chuurch's dark and experimental approach adds a hypnotic touch, with ominous vocal samples like "open the closet door” lacing through eerie synths that swirl around grimy basslines.

Everything from toothbrushes to toilets have gone wireless, but for some reason, DJs have remained tethered to their equipment like dogs leashed to a post as squirrels saunter by. AIAIAI's new TMA-2 DJ Wireless headphones break those chains with what the Danish audio company boldly claims are "the first-ever headphones designed for true wireless DJing."
The skeptic in us approached with caution, since true wireless DJing has been a persevering albatross in the audio tech world. But the unit's ultra-low latency connection (sub-10ms) delivers on its promise.
AIAIAI's breakthrough headphones deliver uncompressed audio through their proprietary W+ Link technology. The system uses the brand's X03 transmitter, which connects to a DJ mixer via 3.5mm TRS or USB-C and wirelessly beams audio into the headphone unit.
AIAIAI
Beat-matching feels just as responsive as wired alternatives, without that millisecond lag that turns mixing into a frustrating game of audio catch-up. You can also tune the frequency response with predefined sound profiles or a custom five-band EQ, but you'll have to download the AIAIAI mobile app.
The headphones also eliminate battery anxiety with a 25-hour runtime, which means they can outlast even those Red Bull-vodka-fueled marathon club nights at Space Miami. The familiar TMA-2 build quality remains intact too, and it's as comfortable as ever.
What's particularly refreshing is AIAIAI's modular approach. Current TMA-2 owners can simply upgrade their speaker units rather than contributing another complete headset to the electronics graveyard. True to form for the renowned music tech company, it's true sustainability that doesn't feel like a marketing checkbox.
For professional DJs, going wireless has always been like switching to decaf: technically possible but fundamentally compromised. But the TMA-2 DJ Wireless is the rare tech product that removes a genuine limitation rather than solving a problem nobody had.
The TMA-2 DJ Wireless is available for €300 on AIAIAI's website.
In a dance music landscape overflowing with formulaic collabs, Destructo has teamed up with MxNxSTxR (Ty Dolla $ign's electronic alter ego) for "What You Need," a track that delivers exactly what its title promises.
They brought along Thundercat and Channel Tres for the ride, forming some sort of musical Avengers team trapped in a studio during a pandemic-era writing session. What makes this collaboration special isn't just the star power, but how organically it came together back then—four virtuosic artists jamming in a room (when rooms were all we had) and building something that captures both lockdown dreaminess and post-pandemic release.
"What You Need" took years to escape from that studio but feels like it was worth every moment of the wait. The track marries Destructo and MxNxSTxR's club sensibilities with Thundercat's guitar flourishes and Tres' characteristic cool-as-ice delivery, delivering a breezy disco groover that feels like roller skating through Venice Beach at golden hour.
