Bedwyr, Susan and Mat return with their brand of Doctor Who related conversation. Firstly the team discuss the Season 12 Blu-Ray release. They debate the use of the new Doctor Who logo on the cover, which may be subject to change. This logo has symbolised the new era of Jodie Whittaker but is included on the provisional cover for this set. Mat also raises an interesting point, pondering if the logo will have to be retained should a new production team come in and change it on other merchandise in a few years.

Discussion then turns to the stories of Season 12 beginning with 'Robot'. The K1 robot proved a hit for Bedwyr and Susan enjoyed the close connection to the Third Doctor era which had just concluded. 'The Ark in Space' triggers body horror imagery and a comparison with a brutal horror movie franchise. 'The Sontaran Experiment' and 'Revenge of the Cybermen' both receive positivity. Unfortunately, the gap between Cybermen stories means the portrayal of the cyborg monstrosities is flawed. Of course, ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ remains the highlight of the season. The trio also point to the connections to later stories, including tales of the Time War, first established here. Finally, the team ponder which other seasons of Doctor Who they are looking forward to seeing. Early contenders for the next release include Season 6, Season 16 and Season 25.

The twelfth episode of the BlogtorWhoCast is now online and features a return to the reviews of Series 10. Bedwyr, Susan and Mat are back with their mix of Doctor Who news and reviews. Firstly the team discuss the Series 3 Blu-Ray steelbook release and subsequent delay. In sadder news the passing of Peter Miles is reflected upon. Unsurprisingly his role as Nyder in 'Genesis of the Daleks' is the standout.

For the main event of Episode 12 Team BlogtorWhoCast discuss the Monk trilogy, a series of episodes in Series 10 which encompassed 'Extremis', 'The Pyramid at the End of the World' and 'The Lie of the Land'. Topics for debate include simulations, the portrayal of scientists and how the world will end. The 'fake' regeneration is also mentioned and how the concept of regeneration is now broken. There are also positives with praise for the attempts at trying something fresh with an 'Invasion Earth' story. However, the team admit that things didn't quite come together in these three stories.

Unveiled earlier this week was a new Doctor Who logo which brings together Bedwyr, Mat and Susan once again. Each gives their reactions to the short animation that unveiled the logo and the accompanying music. Thoughts on the logo itself are also made, not forgetting the new iconic image of Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor.

Moving away from Doctor Who, Mat teases new 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' on radio and Susan gets excited about the Complete Blake's 7 DVD box set release. Discussion then moves to the Premiere Event for new movie 'You, Me and Him' in Birmingham on March 31st. Even more news is provided in the form of forthcoming releases from TITAN Comics, plus the announced comic range for the Thirteenth Doctor. Finally, Bedwyr plugs the eagerly anticipated Big Finish release 'Gallifrey: Time War' and some other titles.

After a hiatus for Christmas and the New Year the opinionated threesome are back and there's nowhere better to start 2018 than with an ending. With the DVD and BluRay due out in the UK on January 22nd, it is a good time to review 'Twice Upon a Time'. Together they discuss all the major talking points; David Bradley's portrayal, the characterisation of the First Doctor, Peter Capaldi's final line. The band are back together again! Bedwyr, Mat and Susan have finally put down their copies of Big Finish's The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Volume 2, which will be discussed in a future instalment, and return to their review of episodes from Series 10. Next in their reviews is 'Oxygen'. Together they debate the value of making The Doctor appear vulnerable, sacrifices and political commentaries in Doctor Who. In a typical meander away from the main topic, there is also a discussion about Clara's death in 'Face the Raven' with Bedwyr and Susan having conflicting viewpoints on the subject. There is also a major spoiler for 'Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle' so skip that bit if required.

With Mat still missing presumed watching Doctor Who, Bedwyr and Susan attempt to hold the fort and open with the very sad news of Paddy Russell's passing. Together they reflect on her work and the legacy of the first woman to direct a Doctor Who story. Susan also provides some news coming out of MCM London Comic Con concerning the Titan comic range. Finally the duo review 'Knock Knock' from Series 10.

In Mat's absence Bedwyr and Susan round up some of the 2018 releases announced by Big Finish. This includes adventures of River Song, the Time War reaching Gallifrey and the return of Jenny the Doctor's Daughter. The pair then review 'Thin Ice' as The Doctor and Bill head back into Earth's history. Bedwyr even shares a story from the production which you probably won't have heard anywhere else before!
