Looking forward to book 4 already...

I've just finished reading this 3rd Nicu book with our Amazon Prime membership, and think I'll now have to head straight over to find book 4, just to find out what happens to poor old Felix!

Anyway, enough about the future. As with all the Nicu books I've read, this one is a great package, with useful life lessons painlessly enclosed in the wit and humour of Elias Zapple.

Yes, it is a book about greed, and also about different people (or vampires) learning to peacefully coexist. It is also a book that had me smiling, due to so many great witty little moments and phrases. From books 1 & 2, I have already learned that the Fang Fairy is an important vampire, who is a source of both help and annoyance. I had to laugh when her departure from this book was accompanied by, "Now I'm off to feast at Buckingham Palace before they all wake up."

It is the way that Zapple seamlessly combines the expected with the more unexpected that makes his writing fresh and humorous.

Greed is NOT good

A vampire who is TOO bloodthirsty? Impossible! Only it isnât. Young Nicu, my favourite ever vampire, has a fat friend. Well, not just fat... Florin has become so heavy that he can hardly fly, and all because heâs greedy for blood. This causes major problems for all the local vampires but especially for Nicu. Poor Nicu, he always gets blamed for everything.

Elias Zapple has cleverly written a story about over consumption which is wildly entertaining while having an important message. Itâs not good when one vampire takes everything for himself, unbalancing the blood feeding eco system, built up over centuries of human / vampire co-existence.

The Fang Fairy makes a welcome return and as does Doctor Hans Smell Singh. As with all the Nicu books this would make a great gift for any child who struggles with reading. Itâs impossible to resist the zany world created by Elias Zapple!

Hilarious

Poor little Nicu always seems to get the short end of the stick. This is another hilarious book by Elias Zapple. I highly recommend getting all the books in the Nicu series.

Great Tool for Teaching!

Nicu - The Littlest Vampire: In 'Blood, Blood Everywhere' is the first book Iâve read in Elias Zappleâs Nicu series, but it reads well even without having read the first two books. Even though the reading level is beyond my kindergartnersâ range, they thoroughly enjoyed the excerpts I read to them and loved the illustrations.
