We discussed Lake Mungo and how each of the family members dealt with the grief of the death of Alice after her drowning. I pitch Lake Mungo 2--more Mungoier! We also discussed all the weird things in the movie that were just subtly mentioned like: The neighbor is in Alice's room?? They drive backwards home from the lake?? We bonded over her Polish family's traditions and sharing stories about our grandfathers. Natalie chose to discuss the 1977 Japanese film House. A classic horror comedy, House lampoons hang ups about marriage, the cat lady and traditional roles for women. Honestly all I should have to say is that there's a scene where the cat plays piano with dancing skeletons.
