Salem Murphy has journeyed through cultural assimilation first, with a sense of freedom and curiosity through the eyes of a child of 11, born to Syrian parents living in Trinidad who moved to the US. And again as an Arab-American stunned into silence and fear post-9/11. She is a film producer, writer and TV actress, and has written a short film (currently in editing and soon to be released to film festivals) of the life of an Arab-American and the effects of unhealed trauma.
