1. THE BIBLE IS WRITTEN FOR US, NOT TO US.
You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 NLT
And remember, our Lord's patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him— speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture… 2 Peter 3:15-16 NLT
For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
2. THE BIBLE IS A LIBRARY, NOT A BOOK.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
3. THE ACCURACY OF THE BIBLE IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION.

4. THE WAY THE BIBLE POINTS TO THE PERSON OF JESUS
"You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life. John 5:39-40 NLT
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Gandhi
…The scripture cannot be broken John 10:35 KJV
"We're going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.". Matthew 20:18-19 NLT
Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself; Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared! They said to each other, "Didn't our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?" Luke 24:27;31-32 NLT
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11 NLT
The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. John 15:19 NLT
He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. 2 Corinthians 5:15 NLT
'Don't be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Galatians 6:7-10 NLT
Bless those who persecute you. Don't curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the Lord. Instead, "If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads." Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. Romans 12:14-21 NLT
DO YOU WANT JUSTICE OR FREEDOM?
DO YOU WANT VENGEANCE OR PEACE?
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Romans 12:17 NLT
Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Hebrews 12:15 NLT
for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin. Acts 8:23 NLT
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 4:31-32; 5:1-2 NLT
YOUR GREATEST FREEDOM IS WHEN YOU UNDERSTAND YOU DON'T NEED GOD TO CHANGE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. YOU NEED GOD TO USE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES TO CHANGE YOU FOR THE BETTER.
In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Psalms 118:5-6 NLT

3. AM I CLOSED OFF TO THE NATURE AND HOLINESS OF GOD?
Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT
My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 NLT
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. THE DEEPER YOU CONNECT WITH PEOPLE THE MORE EMPATHY IS FORMED IN YOUR HEART. THE MORE DISCONNECTED YOU BECOME THE HARDER YOUR HEART BECOMES.
…whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble. Proverbs 28:14 NIV

THE BIGGER OUR CIRCLE GETS, THE BIGGER OUR HEART GETS, AND THE BETTER THE WORLD BECOMES.
'After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, "Do you understand what I was doing? You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and you are right, because that's what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them. John 13:12-17 NLT
'For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?' HEALTH IS NOT STUMBLED UPON IT IS PURSUED AND IGNORING PROBLEMS WILL NEVER LEAD TO HEALTH.
THE PREREQUISITE TO TRUE FREEDOM IS TO DECIDE THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO SUFFER ANYMORE
YOU HAVE TWO FOUNDATIONAL CHOICES.
ONE CHOICE IS TO LEAVE THE PAIN INSIDE AND CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE WITH THE OUTSIDE.
THE OTHER CHOICE IS TO MAKE THE DECISION YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEND YOUR ENTIRE LIFE AVOIDING THE INNER PAIN AND YOU'D RATHER GET RID OF IT.
WHEN YOU AVOID PAIN AND CHANGE YOU BELIEVE EXTERNAL SITUATIONS ARE WHAT CAUSE INTERNAL PROBLEMS.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. John 16:33 NLT
OUR NEED FOR CONTROL AND THE FEAR THAT IT PRODUCES BLOCK OUR HEARTS.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:33-34 NLT
UNSHAKABLE CONFIDENCE IS ROOTED IN A GODLY IDENTITY.
And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17 NIV
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. Matthew 7:7-11 NLT
YOU ARE DEEPLY AND COMPLETELY LOVED.
HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE THORNS?
1. DEAL WITH PAIN IMMEDIATELY
When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Psalms 32:3 NLT
2. RELEASE YOUR PAIN AND SURRENDER TO GOD
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalms 55:22 NLT
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 NLT
3. DECIDE YOUR GOD-GIVE IDENTITY AND WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO PURSUE THAT
Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Romans 12:3 NLT

They stumble because they do not obey God's word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. "Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy." 1 Peter 2:8-10 NLT
