I feel its warmth on my skin and a doubtless joy rises." This experience reminded me that we don't need elaborate rituals to connect with solstice energy—simple acts can ground us in this ancient celebration. Greeting the sunrise, noticing abundant nature, and opening ourselves like flowers turning toward light are all meaningful ways to participate in humanity's oldest conversation with the natural world.

The solstice teaches us about balance too. As Robin Wall Kimmerer writes, "Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy." This isn't about ignoring pain but recognizing that joy persists alongside it.
