Youth Tennis San Diego CEO Ryan Redondo and his team aren’t just teaching tennis, they are changing lives.

Ryan Redondo was a guest on Digital Hospitality, where we sat courtside on a beautiful San Diego fall day at the Barnes Tennis Center to talk about the future of tennis, his life and career, and how technology is being adopted in traditionally offline businesses and organizations like at Youth Tennis San Diego.

“We provide tennis, education, and all the physical, mental and holistic things that kids need but don’t get,” said Ryan Redondo. “We provide that to kids in the city and hopefully some of them come back to the Barnes Tennis Center.”

Understanding the highs of success and lows of burnout, Ryan Redondo is able to share his lessons to all levels. The best lesson? A quote from his college coach at San Diego State, John Nelson.

“Blossom where you’re planted,” recites Ryan Redondo.

“I took that every step of the way and it changed my career. I feel like I’m here today because of that.”

Being present, and blossoming each place he was at, has made Ryan a man that continues to grow and also helps others grow.

Youth Tennis San Diego is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to "promote the educational, physical, and social development of all youth through organized tennis and educational activities." Their programs encourage youth participation, personal integrity, leadership, and competitive spirit in a friendly environment that builds responsible citizens.

Youth Tennis San Diego owns and operates the George E. Barnes Family Junior Tennis Center.

About Ryan Redondo

Ryan Redondo was named the CEO of Youth Tennis San Diego and General Manager of the Barnes Tennis Center on May 1, 2020. Ryan, along with many of the other Redondo family members has dedicated his life and career in growing the sport of tennis in all facets of the industry. Ryan was the Head Men's Tennis Coach and Director of Tennis at the University of the Pacific from 2010 to 2019. While at Pacific, Ryan earned Coach of the Year Awards on three occasions (ITA Northwest Region, West Coast Conference, and Big West Conference) along with many USTA and ITA Community Service Awards. Ryan was instrumental in bringing two USTA Pro Circuit Events to the city of Stockton, the $100,000 ATP Stockton Men's Challenger and the $60,000 USTA/ITF Women's Challenger, along with the ITA Northwest Regional Championships,
