Lv: Rīgas Botāniskajā dārzā bija auksts ziemas rīts, un vējš graudās pa kailiem koku zariem.
En: On a cold winter morning at the Rīgas Botāniskais dārzs, the wind was whistling through the bare branches of the trees.

Lv: Taču tur, tropu mājās, bija silts un mitrs.
En: However, inside the tropical houses, it was warm and humid.

Lv: Ilze, ar mīlestību skatoties uz savu draugu Raimondu, cerēja, ka šī vieta mainīs viņa domas.
En: Ilze, looking lovingly at her friend Raimonds, hoped that this place would change his mind.

Lv: Viņa gribēja, lai viņš redzētu to skaistumu, ko viņa redzēja katru dienu.
