A Taste of the Caribbean is owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Gifford & Ornett Ferguson. Hailing from the parishes of St. Catherine and St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, they both share a common love for Jamaica and the foods that adds to its rich culture. They work well as a team with Chef Fergie in the kitchen while Ornett handles the daily operations of the restaurant.
This is a family affair, you will also see their two daughters sometimes attending the restaurant, especially on busy event nights - karaoke, live music, small gatherings, and event catering - and Sundays.
A taste of the Caribbean is in the heart and hub of Teaneck NJ serving up some of the best dishes Jamaica is known for. They offer farm to table, authentic Jamaican dishes such as Oxtail Stew, Curried Goat, Jerked chicken served with sides like fried plantains, Rice & peas, and festival. How can we forget to mention the famous Jamaican Plantain porridge, Beef patty and cocoa bread and fried dumplings?
A taste of the Caribbean is a combination of two people’s love for the art and culture of Jamaican cuisine and sharing this with others.
