It's game week! Notre Dame is set to kick off the 2017 season with a home contest against the Temple Owls. Temple is led by first-year head coach Geoff Collins, who inherits a team that won the 2016 AAC Championship. Blue & Gold Illustrated senior editor Lou Somogyi and football analyst Bryan Driskell break down the Temple program, both offensively and defensively, and discuss the matchups to watch in this game.

Notre Dame concludes the 2017 regular season with a home game against Navy and a road contest against Stanford. How Notre Dame finishes the 2017 season will be crucial to its overall success. Notre Dame faces three straight ACC opponents beginning in late October. The two opponents in November are the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Miami Hurricanes. Notre Dame hired Mike Elko this offseason, who was Wake Forest's defensive coordinator the last three years, but the Deacons return quality players on defense.
