In the tumultuous times of the human property era, enslaved African Americans, being unable to read or write, would often communicate through song. They would send messages to others, plan routes, meeting, etc., all through the language of music. These melodies became known as negro spirituals. Much like the one above, the messages were only understood by slaves. Over the years, different interpretations have been made. I believe this one is about the desire to be free, to have those abolitionists from the northern lands come down to the south and take those enslaved to freedom.

It's Series 6 Episode 4 . Today, we discuss some of the reasons that friendships fall apart? There are times that in friendships where things become one-sided. We can spend so much time trying to pour into another person because you have been together for so long, and we may feel that we are obligated to be there. Understand that the length of time that you have known someone does not dictate their privilege of a place in your life. You deserve peace on all your ships, and you deserve to have effort put in for you!. As Lady Dee and PBid said, they have found the dynamic that works for them in their friendship, and you have to find that dynamic for you and your friends. Know that may look different with each friend because they are different, but the dynamic should yield the same results. 
Your soul is valuable, your sanity just as equal. Your time is precious, and your worth is priceless. Your friendship, relationship, partnership, or whatever should be where BOTH parties involved are benefiting equally and one where no judgment is passed, communication is free. Advice is from a place of love, not jealousy. So to answer the topic of the show, some of the reasons friendships fall apart are lack of communication, unequal effort, vindictiveness, judgment, and unrest. Would you please take time and look over the ships you have in your life? Do any of them possess these characteristics? If so, you may want to cut ties. It's Series 6 Episode 3 . Welcome back; moving right into part 2, we continue to discuss friendships and what they mean. Today I will share with you all a personal story about me and one of my best friends. As you hear this story, please listen with open ears to the things that transpired and how they were handled. As I look back on that instance, I regret some of the actions taken and the time lost, but I don't regret what I did! A true friend is essential in today's time, a support system is necessary, and a level of candidness is required. 
I believe that it is important to tell your friend when they are wrong and grow together. This particular friend and I are stronger than ever, and no, we don't talk every day, but when we do, it's like no time has passed at all. We talk a lot about the instances you'll hear in today's episode, and thankfully we can laugh at what we did. But, even in that, we are both grateful that the other cared enough to do something. Keep in mind that The story you are about to hear is everyday life for many people. Under no circumstances should you feel trapped in a domestic situation. It's Series 5 Episode 4. We are BLACK EXCELLENCE! We're back at it, and we keep it moving. Today we talk about the biggest struggle in the black community and why. The black community has been at a disadvantage for decades. As time goes on, we continue to crush barriers and defy the odds. We continue to prove throughout all we have been through at the hands of the oppressor that we will prevail. Don't let the world tell you that you are cleaning houses, plunging toilets, or anything like it is beneath you. You have the freedom to dream, and your goals are your own. 
Take a moment and focus your perspective and develop a plan to execute your objectives. There is always someone who will have more money than you or someone who will look better than you or be more successful. But it's not about trying to impress other people, and it's about you trying to be the best you can be for yourself. Understanding that you are the creator of your destiny and you hold the cards to your journey. The excellence that lives within you needs to be shared. There is someone that can benefit from your talents.

It's Series 6 Episode 1. Today we begin the conversation around being a leader or a follower. Which are you? The World would have you think that being a follower is wrong, but we are here to debunk that myth. Being a blind follower without proper education could cause more harm than good. No successful business was built without a robust support system. Whether you consider yourself to be one or the other is entirely up to you. There can be no leaders without followers and no followers without leaders. Each of us has a calling, a purpose, and a gift. We were each crafted in an image so divine that there is no one else like us.

What a great day to be alive! It's Season 5 Episode 3! As we conclude our discussion around our WOST teacher, we jump right into our BEST teacher! Hearing us talk about our best teacher, you can hear the correlation between the energy and the love we have for these teachers. I think this is what it's all about! They left the best impact on our lives, and we will forever remember them for it! As I said previously, teachers know they are powerful. Teachers know they hold all the cards and that they have the power to shape the minds of the future! 
One of my best friends is a teacher, and she is the embodiment of a GREAT one! She cares about her students and is invested in her job, and I always tell her that when I have kids, I want her to be their teacher because I know they will get the best education possible. The job of a professional educator is not easy, but yet someone has to do it. I am so thankful that Ms. Grimes was a part of my life! She impacted me in a way I probably haven't even realized yet, and for that, I will forever be grateful!

It's Series 5 Episode 2 picking back up from where we left off; sometimes, people's intentions are malicious. Also, know that it is never your fault for your partner's infidelity. After we move past this, we then talk about a topic out of left field! Who was your worst teacher! This topic hits home because teachers are the shapers of young minds! We know that parents are a part of their child's development, but teachers hold the cards to the door of their future! As we go through our stories of our worst teachers, you will notice a trend! They each fell short on the connection. First, I would like to say BIG UPS TO ALL GOOD TEACHERS! The teachers that we mention in this section failed to connect with us! They did not pour into us, or at least we felt like it. And to be honest, that is what matters! Now, grant it, sometimes kids can be little hellions, and even with that, they still have potential. Like any profession, you get into the job because you have a passion for it for one reason or another, and you want to make a difference.  
The four that I mentioned as our "worst" teachers could have very much meant well but missed the mark on bridging the gap with us. Interpersonal skills teach us that people respond differently to various things. And as a teacher, I think it is a part of the description to determine which method elicits the appropriate response in each of your students! 
In closing, thank you to all the teachers that still pour into their students as though they are their own! You are the REAL MVP!

It's Series 5 Episode 1, and we still in hereee!! Hey, hey beautiful, it's season 5, and yall, we are so grateful for your loyalty! In today's episode, we explore what we would do if our significant other's got someone else pregnant? We deep dive into the topic of cheating and share personal stories on the issue. Infidelity in any form had a precursor. No one just woke up one day and said, "you know, I think imma go cheat today. Whether that pain came from adolescent trauma or adult relationship disconnect, it all stems from something! I am a firm believer in the power of communication. In a relationship, if you aren't happy or you don't like something, say so! A healthy relationship is about compromise, understanding, and the willingness to admit wrong. 

You would be surprised by how much you could solve by communicating even if the solution is that you don't need to be together anymore! That is still better than feeling trapped in a situation from which you believe you can't escape. As you all know, we love to joke here, but in our satire, we do have some authentic conversations. We feel that it's all about truth. We want you to know that we are people that go through real-life struggles and that you are not alone in your situations. We hope that you can relate to us and connect with our messages because that is why we are here!."
