Blues dancing has been around as long as the music. With roots that combine elements of both African and European partnered dance, it’s slow, it’s often close, and it’s intense - in the 40s, people used to call ‘slow dragging’. In the studio today talking to us about the global Blues Dancing movement is Dave Madison. A resident of San Francisco in the US, he started Blues Dancing in 2001, and has been teaching Blues dancing since the beginning of the Bay Area Blues scene.
