United Way of the Southern Alleghenies is having their annual Diaper Drive THIS Friday from 4PM to 6PM at three different locations- Richland Township Giant Eagle, Memorial Highway in Somerset and the Boscov's parking lot at the Logan Towne Center in Altoona.

 You can donate diapers and wipes to help our area families. 

Would you believe half of households fall short by about 25 diapers a month?

Saturday night, Jennerstown Speedway hosts the Children’s Hospital Night as a benefit for UPMC Children’s Hospital. 

Admission is FREE but donations are being accepted for UPMC.

Pennsylvania Resources Council is hosting a household chemical collection event this Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg 

It is $20 fee for every 10 gallons or 50 lbs of material. You place all items in your trunk or truck bed and ensure the materials are safely disposed. You can dispose of batteries, automatic fluids, gasoline, paint, and many other materials. 

You also must pre-register for the event.

The Family Fun Run/Walk For Epilepsy takes place on Sunday, June 15th at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

 Over 130,000 Pennsylvanians have active Epilepsy. The Epilepsy Association of Western and Central Pennsylvania, covering 49 counties, serves as a support to those families affected.

 We spoke to Andrea Zonnerfield and Colleen Fulkerson of the organization about this fundraising/awareness event and the great work that they do!

The Johnstown Walk of Hope is a nonprofit organization started in 2016, with the goal of raising money for patients with a cancer diagnosis.  ALL donations support patients who receive care LOCALLY.

Last year’s walk raised over $90,000!!

This year’s walk takes place at Trojan Stadium in Johnstown on June 7th. 

We got to chat with coordinator Marlene Singer about this year’s walk.

The Luke Patton Memorial Golf Outing is scheduled on Saturday, June 7 at Berkley HiIls Golf Course in Johnstown.

Luke Patton died unexpectedly in 2020 after a diagnosis of a rare disease, Myositis.

We talked to Nick and Leah Patton, Luke’s parents, about the golf tournament and where the proceeds for the events are heading.
