This evening we explore the vast and ongoing consequences of adopting the lunar calendar while we were still slaves in Egypt as a complete break with that secular civilization. Rabbi Riskin traces this worldview further back, to Moshe's grandparents in choosing names for their children, Moshe's parents. We investigate the difference between God commanding Moshe to "go to Paro," and later to "come to Paro," from two very different sources. And we discuss the subtle difference between Moshe's warning of the tenth plague "around midnight," vs. the actual terrible event that occurred "at midnight." We demonstrate how relevant this is from Rabbi Mordechai Gifter, and a dramatic story from Rabbi Meilech Biderman.
