​Sacramento County Board of Supervisor District Boundaries must be redrawn every 10 years using U.S. Census data in order to make the five districts as equal in population as possible and that each member represents about the same number of constituents.​​​

LAFCos are state-mandated quasi-judicial countywide Commissions whose purview is to oversee boundary changes of cities and special districts, the formation of new agencies, including the incorporation of new cities and districts, and the consolidation or reorganization of special districts and or cities.

The Zoning Administrator takes final action on minor use permits and variances.  Zoning Administrator actions can be appealed to the Board of Zoning Appeals.

This committee takes final action on parcel maps (4 parcels or less) that do not require hearings at the Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC), or the County Planning Commission. Their actions can be appealed to the County Planning Commission.
