June 29, 2023 Envie Crowdfunding Games plus Mille Fiori review
Two Tuesdays in a row, it's another Twitch Tuesday! BJ and Jerod welcomed back to the Gumbo Pot their buddies, Mitchell from the Beans & Dice podcast and Logan from the Louisiana Board Gamers Facebook Group and a regular gamer at our FLGS, Anubis Game & Hobby.
Our topic du jour in the Gumbo Pot was all about ENVIE. What games are we excited to check out that are either on some crowdfunding site now or about to hit the pages!
•Andromeda's Edge
•Dog Park: New Tricks
•Daybreak (from Matt Leacock)
•Clans of Midgard
•Planet Unknown: Supermoon
•Inventions: Evolution of Ideas (by Vital Lacerta)
•Shipwrights of the North Sea REDUX
•Night Witches
•The Halls of Montezuma
•Monster Hunter
Then board gamers, it's time for a check up -- a visit to the Good Doctor, of course! Mille Fiori is a beautiful abstract game by Dr. Reiner Knizia and published by Devir Games. We give a brief overview, play it, and then discuss our thoughts right after the play!
** A complimentary copy of Mille Fiori was provided by the publisher **
** Apologies for Logan's mic during the first few minutes, we forgot at first to plug it into the mixer! **

•Dog Park
•Elawa
•Tranquility
•Tribes of the Wind

Then pardners, it's time to saddle up them horses and head to Coloma! The four played Coloma and have some fresh takes about this gem of a game. Look for some content showcasing the brand new expansion, Coloma: New Prospects, soon!

June 17, 2023 Top Games of 2022 (sort of?) with Mitchell, Jeremy, and Doooogah
BJ welcomes back to the Gumbo Pot a great krewe. We enlisted Mitchell from the Beans & Dice Podcast, Jeremy from the Louisiana Board Gamers Facebook Group, and the inimitable Dave Doooooogahhhh, the commissioner for life of the Board Boys Legacy League to chat about the top games of 2022.
In typical Gumbo Pot fashion, things went off the rails pretty quickly as the gents had a little trouble with the calendar and the number "one". But we settled on some pretty decent choices, including:
•Marrakesh
•Atiwa
•Ark Nova
•Merchants of the Dark Road
•Star Wars the Deckbuilding Game
•Massive Darkness 2ed
•Tiletum
•Challengers
We leave it up to you if there were any cheating going on' in the years chosen.
