DPSCD Board President LaTrice McClendon visits Palmer Park Prep Academy for a conversation with Principal Reeves, two students, and a teacher who also serves as the school’s librarian. Together, they discuss the importance of bringing libraries back to Detroit schools, the students’ love of learning, and even a student favorite: school lunch. The conversation highlights the voices of students and educators and the importance of listening to their needs. As Principal Reeves reminds us, educating children is “heart work, not hard work.”
