It's Episode 25 and we're taking some time to chat about about a few random games and movies we've been engrossed in lately. Don't worry -- all movie impressions are spoiler-free for those who haven't seen them yet!

It's Episode 24, in which Judy & Robert take a dedicated look at Sentient, from J Alex Kevern and Renegade Studios. Programming robots? Check. Beautiful dystopian world? Check. Plans that invariably go wrong? Check. Does Sentient come out programmed for success, or is it destined to be lost in the robot uprising?

Happy 2018! In Episode 23, we're shifting gears a little bit as we shake up our format to reflect on 2017. What were your biggest surprises and disappointments of 2017? Any exciting titles you're looking forward to for 2018? Let us know, and share your feedback on the new format going forward!
We also take a look back at Arcadia Quest & Zombicide: Black Plague, which we reviewed roughly one year ago today. Do they still hit the table?

It's Episode 22 and this week we're sharing our thoughts on the recent released This War Of Mine, from Michał Oracz, Jakub Wiśniewski and Awaken Realms. A very different take on what it means to be a war game, This War of Mine has you guiding three regular civilians through the horrors of being trapped in a city under siege, hoping to last long enough to live to see the ceasefire. It's a heavy theme and an intriguing concept, but at the end of the day the question is the same: is it fun to play?
We share some initial impressions on recent releases like Richard Garfield's SpyNet, Fantasy Flight Games' Fallout, and Isaac Childres' Gloomhaven. Note that as the latter two are very fresh, very big games, and very spoiler-sensitive, so we're remaining spoiler-free today, sharing only the briefest of thoughts before sinking more time into them in order to devote a fuller episode to each at a later date.
Other preambles include thoughts on the recent Thor: Ragnarok movie, Black Mirror, Don't Starve Together, and, of course, League of Legends.

In this episode we take a look back at Fantasy Flight Games' Arkham Horror: The Card Game and the completion of its first expansion cycle, The Dunwich Legacy! Is it still holding us in its grips as the original box did? Will we escape its nightmarish tendrils for greener pastures? The vast majority of the review is spoiler-free; we do touch on some very light spoilers at the end, so skip from 1:21 to 1:30 if you want to avoid that.
Before that, we take some time to gab about some of the non-cardboard games we've been on lately, as well as some of Marvel's Netflix content (spoiler-free!), cause that's how we do.
We also take a look at some high-quality, custom Arkham Horror: The Card Game playmats, themed & designed by friend of the show: Andresia "Momo Monster" Garnier. Check them out at: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/MomoMonsterCo

In Episode 20, we're taking a look at CMON's latest big release: Massive Darkness! It's a big box, co-operative dungeon crawl that attempts to inject a few new ideas into the genre while still retaining the simplicity of earlier games like Zombicide. Does it work? Is there any fun to be had? We discuss!
Also on the menu are our spoiler-free thoughts on the latest season of Game of Thrones, along with some of the news that excited us most out of this year's GenCon.
Thanks for listening!

Episode 19, the turf war of The Godfather: Corleone's Empire! Fresh from the mind of Eric Lang and published by CMON in 2017, Joe, Judy & Robert battled for control of New York and the favor of Don Corleone. It's the episode that may mark the motive for Robert's inevitable and untimely demise..

Episode 18, where we sail off into the black in search of fame, fortune & glory. It's Xia: Legends of a Drift System (Cody Miller) and its 2017 expansion, Embers of a Forsaken Star (Cody Miller & Ira Fay)! Published by Far Off Games, it promises a sandbox experience in space, given players the freedom to seek their fame through whatever means they wish: explore, trade, exterminate.. It's the closest we get to playing a Firefly game short of actually playing a Firefly game. Does Xia keep the signal going, or does it get lost in the black?
Meanwhile, we engage in a variety of non-board game topics. Robert's been creating his idyllic city in Cities: Skylines while learning about hydroelectric dam physics, Judy's been watching a time-travelling crime drama, Signal, and reading the Decameron (which is soft-of kind-of getting a movie), and Joe's creating a house run by Skynet, all thanks to Amazon Prime Day. We look forward to our future roomba overlords.

Episode 16, where we fend off hordes of alien bugs in XenoShyft: Dreadmire, the new cooperative deck-building game from Michael Shinall & Cool Mini Or Not, and stand-alone expansion to 2015's XenoShyft: Onslaught. Does it stand steadfast, or will the horde of nit-picking review-creatures leave nothing but rubble in their wake?
We also had the chance to continue playing some more Watson & Holmes scenarios, carrying off from our previous episode, and share our experiences with some 2- and 3-star scenarios. Don't worry, there are no spoilers! Does the increased difficulty enhance the game?
There seems to be a lot of TV and movie watching lately. Spoiler-free thoughts on the recent season of Sherlock, the new Wonder Woman film, Snowpiercer..
For those interested in watching some board game-like television (seriously), we highly recommend checking out two Korean shows: The Genius & Crime Scene.
