Do we have love figured out? I John 4:16-17: God is love. Jesus knew how to live life perfectly. He is the best model to follow. Bob gives 3 things to avoid, also 3 conditions to desire. One of the most important actions we do as kingdom members is to encourage one another to let God's love flow through us to others. Bob's favorite songwriter and singer was Ron Block, and he often read the words of Ron's song, "I'm not holding on to Jesus--He's holding on to me."

Bob shares the challenge of the harvest on a farm (knowing when the harvest is ready) and how it applies to the importance of reaching out to our harvest--lost people. We need to come alongside people and introduce them to Jesus. What does it take to be a harvester? Illustration of Timothy (Philippians 2:19-22) and how he took a genuine interest in people. Are we prepared and willing to go to the fields and win people for the Lord?

Just as we sing lullabies to our children to put them to sleep, Bob feels that Christians are being rocked to sleep concerning what Christmas is all about. Merchants open their doors early, stay open late. Materialism seems to take the place of the real meaning of the season. The story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19 shares the reason why Jesus came: to seek and save the lost. He came to provide abundant life and to make it possible for us to go to Heaven.

In what are you confident? Confidence is a firm belief, trust, reliance, certainty, and assurance. Jesus said, "Come and follow Me." Following Jesus is an either/or commitment--not both/and. Satan tries to give us doubts. Following Jesus brings confidence.

Comparing the renovation of a house to the renovation of our heart, Bob starts by sharing steps that must be made to turn a "handyman special" into your dream home. We need three things: a vision, intention, and means--or "VIM." A house has no power to renovate itself...the same is true of our heart. Jesus modeled for us life as life was meant to be--not just going to heaven, but living life here on earth to the fullest.

Some things just make sense. If we treat people like we want to be treated, we should be able to get along. Jesus is the greatest leader Who ever lived. Get to know Him. Bob gives a fascinating illustration on windmills and how it applies to our lives. He ends the message with another great account of someone challenging a speaker who claimed there was no resurrection.

YFC Caravans started in 1972. This year Bob was the speaker and over 200 students came. He spoke on Jesus the Creator, the Healer, the Rescuer, Lord, and Friend. The commitment to follow someone is not frivolous. You cannot do it half-heartedly. Following Jesus is an adventure. Bob gives a great illustration of God's protection while on this Caravan. Near the end of Bob's message, he shares this truth for us: "The closer I am to Jesus, the better off I'll be."

Those who make great accomplishments all started as beginners, then worked hard and made a commitment to excel. Are we willing to learn from Jesus in His school of life? We will never get lost if we follow the right Person.

One of the most important things to ponder is the greatness of God, also the principle of domain. One challenge Dr. Willard gave was to learn to say: "I need to live my life as Jesus would live my life if He were me."

A sojourner is someone who is on the move. We need to see life through God's perspective. Life is a journey--not a trip...Life is about fruit and not leaves...Life is about the eternal and not the temporal. Our bodies are wasting away, but what's happening on the inside is most important.
